Yesterday, I posted pictures of spring flowers for the First Day of Spring....
This is what I woke up to this morning, on the Second Day of Spring. The first 5 pictures were taken at 8AM.
The next two pictures were taken at 9:15 AM, after the sun was up.
Pretty? Yes. It is actually the first real snow amount we've gotten this year. It would have been more welcome in December :-).
Hurry back Spring!
Speaking of spring....one wonderful spring veggie is asparagus. I just made some great asparagus soup. You can click the link on my side bar for the recipe. Or click here.

It looks beautiful Penny...but I agree about it being more welcomed in December!! Hurry up Spring!
Gosh, Penny, your views are spectacular!!! I love the neighborhood you live in. So pretty! That snow is pretty too. I don't blame you for wishing it came earlier and not later though. LOL! We're supposed to get a wintry mix of some sort tomorrow and then rain all weekend. It is VERY cold here today, but sunny. Love your porch views. Too bad it's too cold to sit out there and drink coffee and watch the birds. It will be here soon though, hopefully!
I love your views Penny. Even with that beautiful late snow. Yikes, is this what we are coming back to?
Hugs, Penny
Cold here again with raw weather coming in. You have stunning views. So ready for warm weather to come back. 80 here last weekend and this weekend in the 40's.
Gorgeous views, but I hope Spring comes back soon. Hugs, Marty
We had a beautiful day yesterday for the first day of spring. Now it's back to business with rain today and tomorrow with snow Saturday. We need it, though.
Wow what a wonderful view you have. I agree that the snow is more welcome in December. We had another snow "squal" here that covered the ground again this morning. Come on Spring weather :)
Such amazing views from your home!
So very pretty, Penny! Hasn't this just been the craziest weather? We had 70's last weekend, but this weekend isn't supposed to get above 45 or 50.
What a beautiful place you live, a place I've always wanted to visit. It seems like it is a little warmer right now in our neck of the woods which surprises me. Thanks for sharing your lovely pictures & blessings to you, Patti
Enjoy it (I guess), while you can. Spring is well on its way and has already landed in Southeast Texas.
Beautiful surroundings you have there.
Gorgeous pictures wow!!!
I just love your front porch and neighborhood!! looks like a perfect place to live. You have a blessed day!
Your weather looks like a Spring joke, too---much like our own. Love the asparagus soup and wish I could eat asparagus- I love it...but it does not like me-xo Diana
You have some gorgeous views from your home, Penny! I think snow looks pretty, too, after it has just fallen. We got very little this year.
The soup looks great, I am going to check out the recipe.
XO,
Jane
It actually looks like December there Penny! Seriously though, snow this late is quite lovely and you know it will not hang around for long or require much shoveling thankfully! The soup will be welcomed on the chilly day - I'm making soup every other day still - we love it on cold nights.
Lovely spot you have there dear - your neighborhood is very picturesque.
Love and hugs - Mary
The snow is very pretty, but a little bit unwelcome at this time of year. As you've said, December would have been better. Hopefully it will soon melt and spring weather will catch up with the calender.
Hope it's warm there very soon. Spring in the mountains is a lovely time of the year providing it doesn't snow. Phil the groundhog sure got it wrong this year :)
Sam
While it's very pretty, that snow seems a little late! I hope it melts soon to leave crocuses and daffodils in its wake!
I know, that is just crazy weather! Pretty pics though Penny.
Ah yes, a balmy 17 degrees when I went to work this morning and spitting snow all the live long day. Still, I prefer to tell myself that it is simply winter's last deperatge gasp. Next week, highs in the 40's. For Michigan, that's spring:)
Hi, Penny...how fun to find new things in your yard.
I've been missing in action for awhile..as soon as I get this old house sold and moved, I'll be by to visit more.
Love ya....
Penny, I don't envy you the late snow, but your view is gorgeous. Your new home is in a lovely setting. That front porch is fabulous!
That's exactly what happened at our house last night. Didn't last long though thank goodness! Mimi
Gorgeous views and pictures! Crazy weather everywhere! Enjoy your weekend!
It does look pretty, but I want Spring. You must be loving your forever home.
Your views are gorgeous, Penny.
It snowed quite a bit in SW MO last night. We are expecting snow here in NE MO tomorrow night around midnight. Hoping the wedding is over and all is packed up by that time.:-)
Yes, I'm sure it would be more welcome in December; however, it's pretty and as they say, spring snow is poor man's fertilizer. Your neighborhood is simply beautiful.
I can't wait until I see flowers popping up around my neck of the woods (northern IL). All we have is some little green shoots - tiger lilies - poking up in the ditch in front of our house. Doesn't it figure that right after you saw your flowers, you got snow?! The views from your house are beautiful!
I'm beginning to think that Spring has forgotten to come! It's still cold here too but we don't have any snow. Hope it gets nicer for your weekend!
We were supposed to have a wintry mix yesterday but it was just cold and this morning we had spring like storms. I want to plant things but I'm going to hold off for a few weeks to be sure!
Now that soup looks and sounds delicious!! Love the pictures of snow too, feel a little jealous as we haven't had any in our area. Make sure you Pop over and say hi and you can enter my free give away! Karen x
A beautiful location and the sun on snow is pretty.
