Closet Turned Into A Desk Space Reveal

It's finished!  Here is how it turned out.

I love it!  Mr. Comforts built the two shelves and the table top with stock furniture grade wood from Lowe's.  I painted the two shelves white and stained the table top with English Chestnut.

As a reminder, this is how the closet looked when we bought the house.

And here it is, partially finished,

It is just the right size for me.  I can keep my tons of cookbooks handy.

So, for the rest of the room....  I am sewing curtains in the next few days.  We are rearranging some hutches and book cases etc into different rooms.  We also have to hang some pictures.  So once that all gets done, I will show you the whole space.

A few of you have asked what color the room is painted and if it is the same color as the living room and dining room.  The color in the den is called Gold Buff, by Olympic Paint from Lowe's.  It is a shade darker on the color chart than the living room and dining room, which are called Belgium Waffle.

Have a great weekend!

Penny, your closet office looks wonderful. It's so tidy and efficient. No place for papers to get piled up. I like that.

Have fun fixing up the rest of the room. Looking forward to seeing that.

Happy Weekend!

Brilliant! You just keep delivering the inspiration, Penny. I love what you've done and have made note of the colour as I am a big fan of yellow walls especially in our rainy winters.

Ohhhh, I want one. What would I have to give up to have it? Let's see...John's closet could go or my broom closet. Hmmm...

That's wonderful, Penny. So much better than I imagined. You two make a great team!

Looks so good now Penny - books DO make a room, and sometimes even a closet! Love that you have a place for cookbooks right by the computer - I feel more great recipes coming soon!

K did a wonderful job constructing the shelves and your paint and stain work is, as always, perfection.

Thanks for the nice comment on the bathroom. It had it's hairy moments but turned out well just as you said it would. I'm breathing, and showering, again in my own space!

Love, Mary

Wonderful! A great use of the space. And I love gold walls, you've reawakened my desire to paint my dining room walls an Apricot-tinged Gold. Hmmmm....
