Yesterday was a perfect day.
The weather was perfect. The fall colors were perfect.
I met my friend, "the other Penny" from Lake Lure Cottage Kitchen, downtown Asheville for some antiquing and lunch. She is heading back to her winter home this weekend, and I won't see her again until next spring. I am going to miss her!
We had lunch at a wonderful little French restaurant called Bouchon. The main restaurant is only open for dinner, but they have a creperie that is open for lunch in the courtyard beside their restaurant.
We both chose chicken pesto crepes with arugula and a side order of Pommes Frites. While dining the leaves were gently falling off the trees and floating down around us.
Love this metal capped string light that was in the courtyard. I will be looking for that style when we built our pergola at our new home.
Speaking of home....I took the pictures below on my way to my current rental home, after a day with Penny. The color has reached it's peak here and the leaves are falling like crazy.
To the left in the picture below, there is actually a road, but you can't see it because it is covered with so many leaves!
At the end of the perfect day, I had to capture the sun setting through the golden leaves from my deck.
Travel safe Penny! See you next spring.

Looks like a wonderful lunch and a beautiful Fall day! I love the sound of falling leaves!~Hugs, Patti
What good times to lunch with a friend. I wanted to reach out and help myself to a fry or two...what was the "dip"? I enjoyed taking the drive home with you up to your mountain home with the beautiful view right there from your deck.
It was a perfect day Penny. I will miss you too. See you in April!
Hugs, Penny

I loved the photo of Penny, at the table, amid the fallen leaves. What a nice afternoon you must have had. If you find those lights, could you send me a link? I'd love to have some for our gazebo, which is presently lit by fairy lights. I'd like something a little 'more'.
Sounds like a perfect day! Your photos are beautiful Penny! Enjoy your weekend!
Your lunch looks delicious! What a great way to spend the day with a good friend!

P.S. Can't wait to see the new home and all you will do with it!
I think any day is a perfect day when blog friends get together! Loved seeing Penny and where you had lunch together - and your gorgeous Fall colors.

Ahhh, that restaurant looks so gorgeous with the leaves all falling down around you. I would have been there all afternoon!
One of the great things about where you live is all the gorgeous hills and mountains. It's very flat here, which has it's perks, but the vistas you show are so wonderful! I love how your deck looks out over the tops of the trees:>)
Beautiful pictures of Fall, Penny! It is looking pretty much the same here. Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day. 78 degrees and sun shining. Today is cold, grey and rainy. Quite a difference. Your luncheon looks delicious and this looks like a cute place to have lunch with a friend.
I see that Asheville is just as pretty in the fall as it is in the spring! Beautiful. And how nice to have lunch with Penny! I didn't know she would be heading to Florida so soon...the time is flying!
Have a great weekend, Penny!
XO,
Jane
So happy to hear that you went to Bouchon's for lunch. My husband and I and another couple are headed there Monday night for mussels... at least they are, I don't care for them, but it looks like there will be plenty to eat. We are headed back to Florida on Tuesday and hate to leave this gorgeous weather... but doctor's appointments await... Have a wonderful winter and enjoy moving in to the new home. It looks fabulous now and I am sure it will be even greater after you put your touches on it.
So glad you had this wonderful day! Our leaves are falling like mad too. They are everywhere. :o)
It was a perfect day for you Pennys.♥ We were out late yesterday afternoon, and we were enjoying the leaf colors, too. It is one spectacular display.
When is move in day?

Oh my! So pretty. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing those beautiful fall pictures! We don't get a lot of color change in Texas.
So glad you had such a nice day. From the sounds of the weather reports, the good weather may be over for awhile.
Stay safe, Penny.
Looking forward to more posts from you soon.
