Do you watch the HGTV show, House Hunters? Do you try to figure out which of the three houses the buyers are going to pick, before it is announced?
While watching the show, you hear what they are looking for, what they might have to compromise on, what each house has or doesn't have.
I have gotten pretty good at guessing which one they will pick, but I have been surprised a few times.
So, while I am waiting to hear from the sellers of the house we picked, to see if they will make some repairs or not, I thought we could play House Hunters. I will show you three of the houses that we have seen. One of them is the house we made the offer on. I will tell you the pros and cons of each one and show you a couple of inside photos too. Can you guess which one is the house we picked?
House One
House one is a condo that is downtown. The pros are...no yard work or outside maintenance, you can walk to downtown shops and restaurants, brand new. The cons are...no place for a garden, lack of privacy.
House Two
House number two is about 10 minutes to downtown in a golf course community. The pros are....light and bright, two master suites, great living room with soaring ceilings and rock fireplace. The cons are, no formal dining room, though there is an informal dining area off the kitchen, small back yard.
House Three
House number three is about 5 minutes to downtown in a gated mountain community. The pros....light and bright, fireplace in great room, formal dining room and nice sized master bedroom. The cons...sloping front yard, carpet needs to be replaced with hardwood, small back yard.
So which one do you think we picked? I promise to let you know which house we picked in my next post and whether or not we are able to proceed with the sale.

Hmmmm, I will probably guess wrong, but I am thinking #2. I think you need the yard.

I'll say house #3. You need a small yard but I think the porch won you over. It's just waiting to be decorated.

Even before seeing some of the other commnets, #3 just said Penny to me. At this point, either we all recognize what you like or you're wondering if you put an offer in on the wrtong house! Lol.
I'm guessing #3. If I were unmarried though, I would go for #1. Hubby would have no part of that one. Any one of them would work for you though.. Can't wait to hear your choice!!

Not #1, that doesn't seem foreverish to me. Perhaps #3? That sloped front yard could be tackled in an instant with low-maintenance shrubery, and having a small backyard wouldn't take much upkeep but would still give you outdoor living space. I'm guessing #3. I know how much you want a garden. So, I'm thinking the condo is out. #2 sounded like it was lacking in space for you to entertain by not having a dining room. I know you like to cook and entertain. Can't wait to find out which one you picked!
This is hard Penny. I keep thinking two but you know I love the dormers so I'm reluctantly saying three. Since we have an A frame home in the mountains I love the high ceiling and the big windows. But...still three is my guess. I hope you get what you want Penny.

#1 is beautiful but not sure you would want it to be your forever house. I am torn between 2 and three. I am going to say 2.
Which ever one you chose I am sure it will be great.

I love the House hunters on HGTV. I usually pick the same one that they do. Hmmmmm, It's between two and three, I eliminated one. Hmmmm, I'm going to go with two, but house number three is equally as lovely, and it does have a front porch.

I usually guess right on House Hunters, but I can't decide if you will choose #2 or #3. I think you need a yards, so 1 is out... although we love condo living in Florida, we look forward to our 2 acres in NC.

two or three...two or three...I'm going with #3 even with that sloping front lawn...which, you are right to be concerned about because I have a sloping back lawn and it's problematic. Perhaps you'll build terraces and put plantings in there instead of having a lawn.
For some reason I think you would want to live in number 3 and a little bit of old carpet isn't gonna stop you.

I love House Hunters, and watch it all night long on my nights off work while my family sleeps. Only time Mama gets the TV! I think you'll pick #2.
All three are beautiful, wow, I wish that we had such gorgeous choices when we were searching.
Our little cape cod was a real gem compared to the other stuff we saw.

I think no. 3 has your name all over it. Right away, I kicked out the condo; its just not you. No.2 is nice, but as soon as I saw 3, that was my obvious choice for you ;-) Whichever one you choose, though, will be wonderful when you are through!

Well....I am going to guess #2 house because I am thinking you are still into having a house not a condo but I have a feeling you will shock us all and pick the condo. House #3 looks too similiar to your present home and I would want something different. I do LOVE to watch "House Hunters"...sometimes I pick the right one sometimes I don't. Okay, here we go...I ruled out #1 because there was no yard. Then, it became difficult! I think you picked #2, because of the two decks....but...can't wait to hear! ;)
I won't take a guess since I already know, but it was nice to see a picture of the outside too! Hope the current owner's are in agreement with your requests.

i think number two, but that is probably because that is the one I would pick. No condos for me, and I do like a yard. But--I am loving the porch on three. Whichever you chose, I hope you get it, and know you will love it.

Isn't it interesting that only one or two of the fifty plus responses can see you living in a condo? I know I can't -- where would you repaint and reupholster furniture in a condo? Too difficult! Gotta be house # 2 or # 3 -- even after reflection, I plump for # 2! You'll have to tell us soon -- we're all expiring from the suspense! :o)

I think it might be #3. I love the condo and the idea of being able to walk downtown. Would be a total lifestyle change for us!
I think #3. Although it isn't rock-solid logic, you tipped your hand a little by saying you are waiting to hear from seller about repairs and then indicating seller replacing carpet with HW floors in the desc of #3. And then once, I got that in my head, I couldn't tell if I was picking #3 on its overall merit, or because of what I perceived to be a clue!

We both watch House Hunters and have a fairly good rate of guessing the right house. On your challenge I was really torn between 2 and 3, but 2 is my choice.
I love House Hunters - watch it all the time. I am going back and forth between house 2 & 3...but ultimately, I am choosing house 2. Can't wait to see your answer!
