In Memory of Donna Summer

Mr. Comforts and I met in 1978 and married in 1979.  We actually met on a blind date at a night club.  It was in the height of disco and Donna Summer was  one of the most requested  artists for the DJ.  Her music has a special place in my heart.

She will be missed.

Yes, she will be missed. When I think of her, I think of my father. Even though he was old at that time, he had all of her "cassette" tapes back then and whenever we rode anywhere with him, we listened to her music I've been thinking of my dad all day.

Oh how I adored her music back then as well as these days for nostalgia's sake. So sad to see her go.

The sad news of this day...I will remember her fondly, too. Did you and your hubby do any disco dancing that evening? I was just trying to remind John. He has conveniently forgotten it all.

She was part of the song track of our formative years! I always loved her music. I was shocked to see she had died so young.

yes she was a great singer and gone before her time...I got to meet her once~on marthas vineyard she was just out a t a local dance club hanging out...I went over and chatted with her, she was lovely. This was at the height of her career, and she was so approachable. Did you know she was a Massachusetts native?

I remember when my husband called me to tell me he heard on the news about her death. I was so shocked. I didn't even know she had been sick. I was in highschool when she was popular. I remember loving her music then.

see you there! said...

Sad that such a lovely voice is silenced. Listening to her music always bring back wonderful memories.

I too am a product of the disco age. As much as it's made fun of, we had some good times out on those dance floors. When I think of those few years, I smile. She will be missed for sure.
