We had a yard sale today! It was a neighborhood yard sale.
I hadn't had a yard sale in 10 years. Wow, I forgot how much work they were! Luckily our good friends lent us a couple of banquet tables....they came in very handy! Thanks R & K!
It was raining at 8AM when it started, but the buyers were not the least bit daunted. We sold most everything the first hour of the sale.
I am pretty sure I won't be having any more yard sales...lol.
p.s. if you missed it...the two previous posts were the tutorial on how I recovered the French settee.
Welcome Home,
Penny

Why is it that I only find the yard sales with old toys, baby clothes and moldy camping equipment? I may need to blog about this!
If you were selling what it looks like you were selling, I can imagine it all went the first hour. I'm sorry I could not stop by! (a couple of hour commute...) Glad it was successful in spite of the rain!
Oh man Penny, I want to come to your yard sale!!!!
Penny, I wish you would have told me about your yard sale! I would have driven the 5 hours it takes me to get there from Fayetteville. Beautiful items! :)

You had some great stuff, Penny. I particularly like the bird mugs, and the footed cake stand, and the ...
it's probably a good thing I live too far away to come!!
Hugs, Carol
WOW! Looks like you had some super nice items that you sold! Wish you were MY neighbor!
You know seeing all that great stuff is torture for those of us that love to go garage saleing right? Lol, oh how I wish I had been there!
I could easily sale a lot of stuff, but just too much work. I will just keep taking mine to the consignment store. She charges a lot anyway so I end up making more money.
I agree that yard sales are a lot of work; how great you sold almost everything right away.
I wish I had taken time to drive up to your house. You didn't tell me you were selling so many things I loved from you house. I'm glad you got rid of the things you wanted to. I still take mine to Goodwill because I know they help people who couldn't otherwise find jobs employment.
Hugs, Gretchen
Good for you Penney. Glad you were able to get rid oof so much stuff.
I too need to have a sale but oh, the work involves stops me .
That's the best looking yard sale I've ever seen! Paska is much easier. =D So glad that you sold out early. Yay!
Hi Penny! Oh, I hope your yard sale went well. Now I see lots of great looking stuff and dishes! Why can't I ever come upon a yard sale like yours. I know they are so much work. My hubby is thinking we need to have one before it gets too hot! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
My sister and I went garage shopping today (in Florida) and I found a cloche and a silverplate champage bucket, but NONE of the sales we went to looked even half as nice or organized as yours. We are headed to NC after Easter and hope to get to meet you.

Hi Penny,
Wow, you had some great things at your yard sale! I never find things like that.
BTW, I love your french settee that you upholstered. Beautiful!

OMG! Penny....do you realize what you sold! Wicker, bentwood, bird cups???? Seriously?? I so would have bought it all, had I not lived in Michigan! Great sale!
I love your version of Yard Sale items! Nice :)
Debbie
so sad you don't live in my area....saw the stacks of dishes and my heart began pounding...
for some reason, since i moved to the pnw, i've had a hard time finding good "stuff" at garage sales and thrift stores...
never have seen a garage sale as lovely as yours...
was that your table and chairs you painted, with the red on top of the table.......I would have loved to have that!!!!! Just down the road in South Carolina......boy I wish I had known.......
happy in quilting, gloria g.
You had good stuff - and your prices were right! That's the sign of a good sale. Wish I lived close enough to shop in your garage!

Wow! Looks like you had lots of great stuff! I would have loved to have been there!~Hugs, Patti
Penny, good for you getting everything sold! I swore the last time we had a garage sale I would never have another one! It is alot of work!
I have a good friend who is always having yard sales. She once sold her car at a yard sale! Hope you made lots of $:-)
I sure agree with everyone, you had one heck of a yard sale! Certainly not like the ones around here. I really don't go to them much anymore because you just can't find anything worthwhile. I would rather go to the Goodwill. BUT, I absolutely would have stopped at yours!
I can see why almost everything sold so quickly. Wow, what amazing stuff, um I think you are supposed to sell less beautiful things....
There are more then a few items I wouldn't have hesitated to pick up myself.
Jen @ Muddy Boot Dreams
You had great stuff!!!
You're so lucky it all went so fast! Karrie was just saying last week that we all needed to have a garage sale...ugh! what work, but it does need to happen ~ especially when I look at my garage :)
Glad you yard sale was a success! I would have bought your dining room table!
Oh my, you had one awesome sale Penny...wish I could have come to help you get rid of your goodies.
Blessings,
Linda
Oh wow, wish I could have been there!! The yard sales here are NOT like that!!!!
I can see why almost everything was gone in the first hour..your things are awesome.Wish I had been there.
Your yard sale looked fabulous! Wish I didn't live 12 states away! Mimi
I can see why you sold most of your things in the first hour. You had some wonderful things, Penny.
Every so often I think about having another garage sale. Thank goodness the thought is only fleeting. I don't think I have the stamina, these days.:-)
Glad the sale was a success although I'm not at all surprised given the quality of your items. Most garage sales here = junk.
Darla
Wish I had been able to attend!!! It looks fabulous
hugs

Wow! Wish I could have been there! Probably would have bought up at least half of your stuff! lol
Penny I see your kitchen table and chairs out there. What oh what are you replacing them with?? Wish I lived near by! I would have been there shopping too!:)
I would have loved to be at your yard sale Penny! Sounds like a good one. I have to catch up here!
Penny: What are you replacing your kitchen table and stools with? Can't wait to see what you are up to.
