"Tray" Chic

I have been looking for a large, low sided tray to set on my coffee table for a while.  Originally I was looking for a wicker tray, but the only ones I could find in the large size that I wanted cost around $80 and that was more than I wanted to spend.

Yesterday I was in Pier One and saw a larger wicker tray for $49 and as I debated whether or not to buy it, I spied a tray that was wood and leather, buried under the wicker trays.  I dug it out and loved it at first sight.

I love the combination of wood and leather.

It has a vintage look about it.

The details are wonderful.

And the best part?  It was on sale for $24.00.

I also wanted to show you the new fireplace screen we got a few weeks ago at Target.  We had needed a screen since we bought the house 2-1/2 years ago.  But they all were between $100 - $200.

This one was on sale for $35.00!

It just goes to show you, if you wait and search long enough, you just might find what you are looking for!

You are certainly finding the deals lately, Penny! I think these are both great finds and prices! It sometimes pays to dig a little at Pier 1 too. I've found things on top of the real deals myself; just hidden and waiting for someone to find them.

I LOVE your tray...it has that RL/equestrian look I love and what a great price! Nice fireplace screen, too. You "did good".

Love that tray you found for your coffee table. I love trays used to corral items like that. That's such a designer thing to do! Your fireplace screen looks great too. That was a great deal! This is probably the best time of year to buy them since stores are getting ready for Spring merchandise now.

Penny those are fabulous! They trey is perfect and I am in love with your fireplace screen. We had one but when we redid our fireplace last spring I never brought it back out and now I am thinking I may need to be on the hunt for a new one. Thanx for coming to party! Hope your week is going well!

The only thing better than finding something pretty is finding it on sale! Yay! Both are beautiful and the prices are amazing. I just recently dug an old bamboo tray out of storageand I'm using it on the coffee table for remotes and flowers. I love the look and I love that it keeps everything corralled!

Hi Penny,

This is my first visit to your blog. I love it and think I will be a frequent visitor. I found you on Kelly's Essence of Home.

Love your style! You did great with your tray from Pier One and the fire screen from Target. They both look rich and expensive. The best part, you got a great price. On your great blogs to visit page, I was in love when I first saw the page. Just my style! I have the same cottage magazine.

I hope you will visit me too.

Hi Penny, I love the tray and the screen. I have always loved Pier One. I found a runner that fit my 9 ft. table there in the fall. The screen has a great look. I agree, wait fr something you love because it is out there.

Always a good thing when you get something great on sale. Around here, if you wait, the thing you wanted may be gone and you'll never find it again. Pottery Barn is already so expensive and even moreso here since prices are tripled. :/ I just like to look. And use their catalogs to make envelopes. :) Have a fabulous weekend. Tammy

I love both your tray and screen...and I, too, enjoy my purchases more if they are reasonably priced.
