The Printed Word

I have an addiction to decorating books.  One that I am trying to overcome :-).

It seems by looking at the titles of these books below, that I was at one time very interested in Cottage Style Decorating, Country Style Decorating, Shabby Chic Style Decorating, Flea Market Style Decorating, Prairie Style and Vintage Style Decorating.

The funny thing is....I never decorated my home in cottage, country,  shabby, flea, vintage or prairie styles....

These books are all heading to my booth at Needful Things on Friday.  They are priced between $1.00 and $8.00.  So if you are in the Asheville/Hendersonville area of NC and are in need of some decorating books, stop by!
Welcome Home,
Penny

Wishing that I was close by, I would grab a few!

So do I. Alot of people are going to be lucky to buy your books.

Even if I don't decorate in those styles, I know I'd enjoy browsing through these. I'm sure you got many hours of enjoyment from the books and now someone else will, too.

I have the same addiction. I try to pick them up at yard sales and wherever I can find them cheap. I often wonder what I could have gotten for my home if I had all the money I spent on magazines and books on decorating, but I still look through them all and many a DIY projet has sprung from their pages so I guess I have saved as much as I spent!

You have quite the decorating library; no doubt someone will be happy to get hold of those books.

I'm addicted to cookbooks as well as decorating books. Great idea to get rid of those you don't use. Wish I could drop by and take a few home for my collection.

Have a great weekend Penny.

Mamon has loads of books like that but I think it involves more cooking than making the house pretty. She is going to give some cookbooks away in March...this is me visiting you from my very own blog...JJ

I was just boxing up my decorating books getting ready for the move. I have most of the same ones you have and thought about sending some to Savers, but perhaps I will want to look them over one more time when I have some leisure time in the new place. I agree with Kathleen though, so much money spent on books for ideas and then no money to execute the ideas...oh well, c'est la vie :)

Wish I lived closer to check these out and purchase a few. Oh well...

Wow! You do have a large collection. I have an expansive collection too and have already gotten rid of some that I felt were becoming dated. I'm sure yours will sell fast in your booth. I can't believe you're getting rid of Romantic Praire Style! That is one of my favorite books and it isn't very old. That one should fly off the shelf!

They say the first step in conquering your addiction is admitting to it. haha. Too bad I'm not closer. I'd come by and purchase a whole pile of these! Good luck.

Penny
I'm flying down right now!
Seriously, I've had to do the same
thing with my books and magazines.
I do tear out the pages I really
love though.

Oh my gosh I bet they all fly right out the door. What a great idea. Lucky customers!

Yes, but how about Mountain Style? =D I wish that I were going to be handy. I see lots of titles I like a lot.

I don't decorate shabby either but......the books sure look nice stacked up there.

Penny, isn't it funny the stages we go through with buying books, interests, decorating, etc. I bet they find homes, all of them!

LOL, you and me both, Penny! I went through a lot of my books when we moved and just kept the ones I really loved looking through. I had a book on porches and I've never had a porch; had one on small room decorating and I think I had one small room in our old house, you get the idea, I'm sure.

Your books will sell quickly. What a bargain. I'm addicted to decorating books too. Probably have many of the same ones. I also love tablescape books. Have plenty of those too! ~ Sarah

The books are going to be a great addition to your booth I think. It only takes one thing to catch someone's eye and draw them in. Here's to fast sales!

I had a dream about your booth last night. How crazy! I was searching all over Needful Things looking for it and when I found it, you had just sold everything in it. Here's to happy selling!

I am addicted to stitchery books (knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, smocking, etc.). It's the first thing I look for at my local Goodwill. Don't ask me how much stitching I actually do.
A couple of posts ago, you asked about color. In my case, the most consistent sneaking-in color is pale green. And I love red too, now that I am no longer intimidated by it.

I have the very same addiction. Wish I didn't live 10 states away. Mimi

You have a lot of the same titles that I have! I stopped buying so many decorating books - I realized I very rarely actually did anything that was in them. I use ideas from magazines and blogs more.

People looking for books will love these, Penny.
Since I started blogging and now have access to some of the most beautiful of rooms and homes, I stopped buying so many decorating books. I still enjoy looking thru them, tho.

Those look like a great collection of decorating books. I have a few myself and love all different styles, and so appreciate the designers of them all.

I wish I was there now, too to shop and buy books! There are a couple I would love to have! Hope you're doing well! Enjoy your weekend! ♥

Oh, I wish I was in the area. I absolutely love decorating books (and cookbooks and...) I have quite a few of the same books you have, too. :)
