Red

I have seen a few blog post lately about painted doors.  Inside doors and outside doors.

My front door is RED.  You might remember two years ago when we bought this house, doing a post on the painting of my front door, here.
I was just wondering....what color is your front door?
Welcome Home,
Penny

  1. Ours is boring white. Only because we live in military housing. Whenever we own our own home it will be RED! (Although I've really been liking apple green lately)
Can't wait til I have a red door of my own!

  6. Just ordered all new exterior doors and they will all be black (with a recently painted brown house). Love your red door, it looks so welcoming and great to decorate for the fall and winter seasons!

  7. Penny, I love your red door. My door is painted black. I have been trying to decide what color to paint it for almost a year. I even posted about it asking for suggestions. I love red doors!

  10. Love your red door Penny!

Our front door is midnight green. I wanted Charleston Green and couldn't find it. This is as close as I could get and it seems to fit.

    Happy Weekend!

  12. I love your red door. Ours is like a deep burgundy color. I would love to paint it old white actually.

  13. Ours is a wooden door, so it is stained. It actually needs to be restained since it has faded a little bit. I really like it the way it is since it goes so well with the stone on the outside. I like red doors though. Yours looks pretty.

  14. I actually had a bright red door in one of my homes once. I loved it! Yours looks awesome. Now what color ribbon do you put on your xmas wreath? Plaid?

  15. My front door is painted a terra cotta (orange) color. The house is a sage green with terra cotta brick. I love the door color!

  16. Plain ol' white - everywhere. But as the house is new, white it will be for a while. Do like your front door and entrance

  17. My door is a barn red. I love it & can't imagine ever wanting another color.

  18. Black. I live in a very formal Federal red brick house with black shutters so the Front door matches. It is the perfect foil for the door knocker, a pineapple from the Jared Coffin House on Nantucket.

  20. It's a black dutch door...but my next project...my next house is going to be kelly green or Kate Spade green if you will. And the house will be charcoal gray...

  21. It's an old fashioned ox-blood - not red, not burgundy - but I love it!

  22. Hi Penny!
Ours is dark dark green, almost black.

  23. Our front door is forest green, with a big brass lion's head doorknocker that I found in an anqique-cum-junk shop. The body of the house is white, the front step is natural aged red brick. In summer, there is a big pot of deep pink geraniums by the door. Lately, I've been toying with the idea of shutters for the two front windows in a dark green to match the door.

PS - has the wax come yet so you can work on the armoire?

  24. Our front door is cranberry, Penny! It goes really well with the color of the condos. In fact, it's so popular that ALL the condos have the same color front door! ; ) {The inside is white though}.

  25. Red is by far my favorite color and we've left behind more red doors on houses we've owned than one can imagine. It's fun to drive by a house you've sold and see if it still has its red front door. Often people either love it or don't have the courage to change it.

Your red door looks fabulous Penny. This time red didn't look right on our mountains house, so it's a deep forest green.

  30. Our front door is a medium gray color. We are renting or it would be painted a bright color.

  32. Well, I have 2 front doors. One is on the outside of our enclosed front porch and is the one everyone sees from the road and the other is our actual front door. They are both deep forest green. I bet you can guess what color they are about to be!

  34. Penny I love a red door on a house, black too! Yours looks great! I painted our door a taupe color a few years ago and we changed the hardware to ORB and have been very happy with it. Now I am actually considering painting the inside just haven't figured out what color I should do it in. Martina

  40. Yes, I remember. I will never have a red door..I know that now, but I can come look at yours. At least I got to paint my home with red trim..so I must be satisfied with that. Patient Husband nearly fainted when I told him of my color choice..but he is happy with it now and slowly getting used to all my fal de ral! :)
You are just the busiest woman!!

  41. Mine is red - or 'cranberry'. I wanted 'fire-engine red' but I also wanted it to match the storm door and the closest thing I could get was cranberry. Better than the weathered wood it was before!

  42. We have a new front door ordered because our old one had a large crack that had to be refilled over and over every year. Currently our door is black and I'm thinking of painting the new one red.

  43. Sorry, Penny, it has taken me this long to realize that you linked to my post about the door color. How dense can a gal be? Anyway, someone popped in for a visit via this post just today. So thank you for the link love; hoping that it's better late than never.

  44. I love your red door (and that lion knocker)! So classic! I just wanted to let you know that I used your picture in my front door color inspiration post - credited of course. It's such a great shade of red and the whole entry is so pretty that I had to include it!
