The loft has been put back together after the painting of the hutch and round table. Here is how it looks today.
This is what it looked like before...
All of the furniture pieces remained, as well as the lamps, curtains and bird cage. All I did was paint the hutch and table. Added some art to the walls (I will show you what I did at the bottom of this post), and made some new blue toile pillows.
Here is the Bee table.
Edited to add this second picture of the bee table. The bee looks off center in the first picture, but it is actually centered on the table.
For the "art" on the wall, I painted an old black frame, white and then stained it with dark wax. The actual "art" is a piece of toile fabric, that I literally duct taped onto cardboard.
I did like the red and black, but the red and blue seem less heavy. I would like to add a Persian rug in reds and blues in the area too, someday.
I think I will enjoy this change.

Penny,
It looks beautiful! I really love the hutch & table. The bee is so appropriate for the style. As a lover of toile, you had me from the start! :)
Penny, it looks so good. That hutch in its new color makes all the difference.
The new look looks so much brighter...and I love how you framed the toille scenes like art work...very clever Penny...

Love that bee! She's perfect!!
It looks wonderful! What's so interesting to me is how just the paint change on the table and cabinet altered the feel of the room. Great job, Penny!
Beautiful! It's amazing the changes you can make with a little paint. Looks like a great place to curl up with a good book.
Hugs,
Cathie
Penny, I like the new look with the painted pieces. Gorgeous color! You pillows and framed pieces are perfect accents. ~ Sarah
It looks so pretty, Penny!
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)
It's lovely, Penny!
Have you considered adding a rug to really warm and cozy up the area?!
Have I already mentioned that I'm just catching up to the black that you used to be doing? Ha! This looks beautifully light and the addition of the blue in the pillows just makes it. Everything looks just right and your hubby was "just right" too when he thought the table needed a little something. I LOVE that the little something is not dead center and I can tell that you planned it just that way. Wonderful!
Too pretty!
I'm an idiot. Still love it! The next time you paint your table...perhaps white or yellow or something...maybe you'll consider putting a little embellishment off-center.
So nice Penny! I love how it turned out and I do love that bee stencil on the table! Great transformation!~Hugs, Patti
The table and hutch look great in the loft Penny~I love the gold touches. The toile fabric as art is a great idea!
I usually love black furniture accents, but the finish you put on the table and armoire make the room look so light and fresh! A beautiful change:>)
I love your changes. You did so much hard work.
You have beautiful hardwood floors!
Penny your loft area looks fabulous!!I love your wall art. Martina
Penny, I am coveting the bee table. Just thought I would let you know;) Hugs!
Didn't think it needed a bee but it turns out it did after all. Beautiful room
Penny,
Your home is just my style...my "dream home", if you will! Would love to see a room-by-room tour of it sometime!
Oh it looks so good Penny! I love red and grey together anyway. I think it looks alot better than it did before (not that it needed improving). The bee emblem on the table looks so charming. It all came together so nicely.
It looks very pretty, Penny! It's nice to make some changes every once in awhile. It freshens things up for us, I think, even if it's small things.
What a lovely little corner. It looks so inviting. I could pull up a chair and sit and read there.
It looks wonderful! The blue and red combination is so cheerful. Now that you put the bee in the middle of the table I agree that it belonged there all the time!
What a lovely spot to sit with a cup of tea and a good book. I love the changes.
The new color combo seems to brighten the room. I really like the red and blue and the fact that you've picked it up with the wall art.

This looks great Penny!! It is amazing what a difference painting the hutch and the table made! LOVE the bee! And the embellishments you added to the hutch!
Beautiful room!

Wow! What a difference a little splash of color can make. I liked the loft before Penny, but now it really shines! Great job. And the bee motif is my fave.

Like Kim said, it is amazing with what a little color can do to transform a room. Bravo! Love the stencil - very French!

Penny it looks fabulous and so much brighter in that area! The table turned out awesome!
Your loft is wonderful - it's a beautiful place to relax. Your hutch and table are definitely 'eyecatchers'. They are just right. I love the bee in the middle of the table. How do you do it? I seem to take so long to get every little thing done!
~Adrienne~
It looks fantastic, Penny.
