Waiting...

I have the armoire all painted and I am waiting for my local Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Stockist to get her Dark Wax in stock.  She told me today it would be next Thursday, before it comes in.

Sneak Peek...

In the mean time, I might start working on this....

Can you believe I found this amazing gem at a resale shop?  Well, it is not exactly a gem....more like a diamond in the rough, right now.

I am going to recover it, and paint the fake looking gold and red frame.  I am just not sure what color to paint it or what type of fabric to use.
Welcome Home,
Penny

They're both going to be great. Looks as if someone really didn't know what s/he was doing with the gold and red paint. It looks like something I'd do. ;D

The piece looks lovely even without the tinted wax. I don't use the Annie Sloan waxes. I prefer another brand. The settie project look like a challenging one. Can't wait to see what you do...

That is a beauty. Bummer on the dark wax. You can use another brand if you don't want to wait. I have used them all. Be sure and use clear wax first.

Oh, Penny, it's going to be fabulous! You are so clever. BTW, I went down to the local shop I mentioned a few days ago which carries the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, but haven't bought any yet. So many great colours. I feel spoiled for choice!

Can't wait to see the bench and armoire completed.

Take care, Carol

I love how the bench looks right now..whatever you will do I am sure it will be great. I am guessing it is going to be with the chalk paint!! I think the appliques look fantastic too, so I will be excited to see it all waxed up! You know when I did the dark wax over the paris grey the color turned an aged green shade! So you might want to do a sample board first!!

I'm always stunned at how much you accomplish and how quickly. I can imagine the new bench/settee in several colors, I suppose it depends on where you are going to use it.
