How does fall arrive in your neck of the woods?
It seems that it happens here almost overnight!
View from my front porch....
View from my back porch...
The colors are beautiful this year.
I am still working in my studio...the vendor night is Thursday! I am almost ready for it. Then life goes back to normal and I am going to paint my armoire that I talked about here...
Welcome Home,
Penny

Oh my goodness! Penny, your photographs of fall arriving are truly stunning! Our fall has not arrived in our neck of the woods, I'll be sure to post when it does!
Have a wonderful day!
Nancy
You have a lovely view from the front and back of your home! The trees are just gorgeous!
How beautiful! We'll be back soon to enjoy the leaves! Hold on to some of that color for us! ♥
Wow! It's so beautiful in your neighborhood!! I am looking out the front window as I type and I see one, just one branch with any color on it at all. Maybe overnight something will happen. We've just come from a weekend with temps in the 80s. Perhaps that stalled things. Enjoy it, Penny! This season is all too brief.
I agree your neighborhood looks beautiful. It is like that here in WV too. All at once so many fall colors.
Fall has well and truly arrived outside your porches! We don't have the variety of colour up here - mostly gold and green, red being rare. You must be up to your eyes in crockery and grout but excited about Thursday night. Good luck with all the work - you'll get it all done and it will be fantastic. I look forward to seeing the photos.
Oh, look at that color. I hope we aren't going to late to mountains in two weeks. Ugh!
Penny, your fall color is beautiful! Wow. Our's hasn't arrived yet...still waiting.
Hugs,
Donna
Beautiful!!! A friend of mine sent me a pick outside their cabin in NC mountains and the colors seemed dull. But not at YOUR house!!! Brilliant and awesomeness!!! Enjoy!
Oh how pretty Penny.
Here in Canada we have the same thing going on. It's been so beautiful and very warm.
Your colours match my colours ; )
Looking forward to meeting you.
Love Claudie
oxoxoxo
Penny, what beautiful photos! I love the turning of the leaves. Here in northern California, the show is not so spectacular. So I'll enjoy vicariously. :)
Penny
Your neighborhood is glorious! Are those reds flaming maples?
We had to get our first frost before the best colors popped out.
Gorgeous Penny!!
Penny! This just made my heart sing! With us all meeting up in a couple of days -- and with the weather looking like it will be fab-U-lous!!! I am so excited.
Looking forward to meeting you.
See you soon!
Claudia
What a lovely sneak peek for us, Penny, thanks!
It seems to sneak up on all of us doesn't it? One day it's summer and the next day...not. Your color is beautiful, and if it's just starting you should have many weeks of beauty. Good luck on your vendor night, I can't wait to hear all about it. I predict your gorgeous creations will fly off the shelves!
Wow! I wish trees looked like that here. We still have to wait a few more weeks. Our Fall peaks closer to Halloween. Just beautiful!
Beautiful!!! It will be here soon then I'm just a hop away in eastern NC.
Jealous of all your fall color and temps Penny! Just gorgeous!
Damn those are some stunning photos! We are in the midst of Fall here in NJ too but it doesn't compare to your pics. Absolutely phenomenal!
How beautiful!! Love those striking red colors mixed in...God is the best painter out there!! Have a happy day!
Oh how I wish I could sit on either of your porches. We had snow this weekend and the colors just faded. Good luck with your show.
It's creeping in slowly here, a leaf a branch, a petunia....
Love long falls.

Gorgeous color Penny.
When we arrived at the lake Friday it seemed the color was just beginning and every day there is a little more. Our weather guys are predicting peak for this week, but there is still lots of green.
Fall arrives here in a rather over night fashion too... seems we get one night in the 40's and the days turn to easy breezy 70's and the leaves to red and gold. It surprises me every year and I would not trade autumn for the world.
Oh Penny...I am so envious...it looks so beautiful!!
Penny, Our leaves are just beginning to change. Your pictures are so beautiful. Thank you so much for your kind comment on my interview at Tina's blog. Have a great week and best of luck with Vendors Night.
Hugs,
Sherry

See you soon.

Looks so familiar - just wish I could be there again this year to enjoy the colors and your company!
Not much color around here yet but with the rain due tomorrow, and cooler nights, we may have some for the State Fair which starts this weekend.
Good luck with the show - your treasures will certainly be spectacular - hope you sell lots dear.
Hugs - Mary
I am SO green with envy that I have nothing to say! I moaned so loud that New England husband, transplanted to California some 55 years ago..came in to see what was wrong with me...
"Never mind" said I.
We OWN a home in New England, Maine to be exact...and he won't move there because it is too cold. A little two story cottage with a view of the ocean....
Penny dear, your neighborhood is gorgeous! Our leaves are dying...but not turning anything like what you see. *HEAVY sigh*
We have SOME color here..but nothing like the East Coast...nothing!
Love, love, love the pictures. Fall is such a refreshing time of year after the hot summer.
Such beautiful views. Looks like no matter where you turn, the reminder of Autumn is around you. I so love your garden and how you designed such a French inspiration.
It's warm now, but in a week or two the chill of Fall will be nudging us to wear sweaters and make soup.
Have a beautiful day.

Hi Penny, I finally changed my avitar to a recent photo of me. I thought I would show you the new avitar!
Karen
Hi Penny I just nominated you for an award see my blog:)
We just don't have that type of fall show around here, sigh. Your neighborhood is very nice.
Lovely colors! I've always thought that was how fall arrived in the Carolinas ~ it was just suddenly there. Out here in southern California, it sort of comes in degrees. You can start to feel it in the morning air around the end of September and then in mid-October, it usually warms up really hot for a couple days one last time, and then it settles properly into fall. I do miss the color, though. Here it seems the leaves are there and then suddenly gone, with no show in between.
There's not much colour here, yet. You certainly live in a beautiful spot.

You're surrounded by glory, Penny. I know you must be enjoying the show.
We are just beginning to see a tinge of color on the maples. I would guess that we are still several weeks from peak.
Have fun seeing everyone at Vendor's Night.
How blessed you are to live in such a gorgeous part of our country! I wouldn't want to leave the porch!
xxoo
Becky
Oh my...I can't wait to see the beautiful mountains next week.

Penny,
What I'd give to have views like you! Talk about BREATHTAKING! Wish our colors here in Georgia were that vibrant...I'm hoping it happens soon!

Hi Penny,

Penny!
Your views are so pretty!
That patio is to die for.
Love your pergola seating area.
That house further down the block with the black roof and white clapboard looks so much like my grandparents 1820 farmhouse!
Have fun at your show.

Oh Penny...your home is not only gorgeous inside but your outside views are stunning. I know you revel in it every day...
