I finished the master bedroom curtains! I even made a couple of pillow shams to coordinate with the curtains. I still want to paint the little side table by the chair. I would love to replace or reupholster that chair someday. I started recreating the lampshade on the standing lamp behind the chair, but I need to get some red gimp to replace the top white gimp.
Here is a before photo without the curtains below...
And here it is after....
Another view before the curtains....
And here again is after...
It has made the room feel much more cozy.

Hi Penny
The new curtains and shams have made your master look more warm and inviting.
I'm working on my bedroom now too.
I am choosing a country/shabby look.
Wish me look. I just hope it turns out half
as nice as yours.
Take care-Kimberly
I simply adore the entire space! The colors are perfect!
I'm a follower! and my style happens to be ever changing but modern country is where I seem to be going these days.
I love how they turned out. I don't know if nautical is a style but I love shells, lighthouses and all things seaside but live in the mountains...lol....half of the year anyway.

I added you to my side bar, Penny!
I absolutely love Charles Faudree, he's my favorite decorator. I was just thinking about ordering this book after seeing it posted on someone elses blog. What a wonderful giveaway!
Hugs
Love it, these add just the right balance of red to the mix. My favorite decorating style? Hmmmm, I love cottage, but I am really starting to like the farmhouse look, maybe something that mixes a little of both?
Does stalking you for the last few years count as following? lol! Yup, I 'm a follower:>)
I just posted your giveaway on my sidebar too!
i think that I am more of a traditionalist with some beach feel to the atmosphere.

Hi Penny ! The curtains look awesome - really do cozy up the space beautifully !
I live in an 1850's Victorian, and although I enjoy LOOKING at Victorian rooms, I've evolved into more a cottage/cozy feel for my own home.

Is there such a style called country/cottage/farmhouse? That's my favorite.
And I am a faithful follower already.
I also posted the giveaway on my sidebar. Thanks for such a fun prize. I love the fabric and the curtains and the shams. Such a happy room.
I absolutely love the curtains and you have inspired me to pick up some fabric and get sewing. Our guest room has no curtains and I can't stand bare windows. My style if very traditional with some American antiques and some French inspired white pieces similar to your dresser.
okay, I am an official follower (thought I already was). Your blog is one of my top twenty that I check often.
Is Grandma's attic a style?? Cuz that is kinda what I like...with a touch of old world...a little of this, a little of that!!
This is absolutely beautiful Penny!!
My style? Traditional/Cozy.:-)
I am a Follower!
The curtains look fabulous and I really like the way you made a pair for the door. That really looks perfect and the shams... It's all pulling together beautifully. You could quit and no one would be the wiser. You won't, but you could!
My favorite decorating style? Early Grandmother's Attic perhaps. ☺ Seriously, do I have a decorating style? I don't think so.
The Comforts of Home is on the Back Porch sidebar.
Love the curtains! My decorating style is country french (with a dash of Penny, now that I'm addicted to your site!)
Your drapes turned out beautifully, Penny! That toile was just the right touch to add! I think any specific style has gotten lost in the mix somewhere. I love both English and French Country and I always love to add a little bit of whimsy to the mix.
I've added your giveaway to my sidebar, Penny!
Those curtains were a TON of work!!! They look fab. For the giveaway...my style is primative vintage meets european country. lol

It's so YOU Penny - lovely, elegant and French inspired. Great sewing job - your master is so inviting and the colors beautiful.
As for me, well you know what I like in my little cottage - some shabby mixed with Swedish country, tossed with a bit of industrial, and a ton of French........so guess the bottom line would be eclectic!
Thanks for a chance to win a new book - I definitely would get Brooke & Steve Giannetti's Patina Style - I love everything they do to make a home beautiful and comfortable.
Hugs - Mary

Hugs,

Yep, a long time follower of yours.
Hi Penny,
Your bedroom looks amazing with the addition of the curtains and pillows on the bed. Since I'm living in a cottage now, I guess my style would have to be cottage decorating. Luckily, the furniture we had seemed to fit right in.
I'm already a happy follower!
I just put your giveaway on my sidebar. If I won, I'd purchase Charles Faudree's latest book, which I really want!
I love traditional decor as well as French Country. It is amazing how much your new curtains have added to your room.

Ah Penny - it's gorgeous! I think my favorite decorating style is a layered look that is English at it's base, with a little Scandinavian overlay.
......and of course, I'm a follower.
They are gorgeous! Love the way they just soften up that room. Good job!! Mimi
Penny, your bedroom looks wonderful. I love it!!!♥♥♥
I'm not certain I have a style that can be named. I am an eclectic kind of girl.
And, of course I am your follower. Forever.
Beautiful!! The pillow shams add so much to the room as well!
I love a mix of interesting pieces, so I guess my style would be eclectic.
Hi Penney, I am your newest follower and the giveaway is not the only reason why. I love your take on French Country. My decorating syle is a clean modern country with French Country tossed in so the Charles Faudree book would be awesome. You have a beautiful home. Wanda
I think the curtains give the room a "finished" look as well as the cozy look you mention. My decorating style, as close as I can name it, would be the Arts and Crafts era, think small California Bungalow.
Darla
PS: I sure thought I WAS a follower but when I checked the list it said I needed to join so I did. Maybe I'm a "stalker" now if I'm on there twice :-)

Love the new curtains Penny! You always do such wonderful projects!
Been a long time follower!
Your bedroom is beautiful Penny. I like all of the light in the room and your new curtains are perfect for the windows.
My decorating style comfortable and traditional with early American antiques. Guess it could be called cottage, because I like cottage decorating books.
Sam
I'm a follower and love all of your decorating ideas and tips.

I like an eclectic mix of Swedish, French, English, Belgian, American. I figure if I like the way it looks put together, then it is uniquely my style and I never copy anyone. Well, hardly ever!
Good Morning Penny,
I tried to leave you a note twice last night and both times blogger kicked me off :( blogger was not working well for me..so I will try again this morning.
I love how your curtains turned out! they really added a lot of charm and sophistication to the room, not that the room wasn't already pretty enough. It just made it even more beautiful!
My favorite decorating style is cottage; country cottage, beach cottage, English Cottage, modern county cottage, french country cottage. I love them all!
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth

The room turned out lovely Penny; so warm and inviting. My favorite style would be "your style" :) Seriously I have always loved French Country long before it was "cool".
And yes, I am a follower of long standing.
I'm not sure what you would call my decorating style. It's not French or chabby chic. I have antiques and collectables and I guess it's just retro-comfortable.
...and I've been a follower for quite a while!!!
I love Medieval style decor!
I blogged this!
I'm following The Comforts of Home!
Penny, your room is so airy, and warm looking. Wonderful. Eclectic is more my style, a bit of this, a bit of that.
Best of luck to all the entries.

My favorite style is french country/cottage/vintage....whatever LOL Much like your style.
I sure don't know how I missed this. The curtain panels are perfectly you and stunning. But what a big job! Bet you're glad it's over. I'm not exactly sure what my decorating style is at the moment. It's a mix of cottage, English country and maybe a little vintage thrown in. My all time favorite designer is Sarah Richardson. I'd like to think my style is a bit like her's. At least I'm working on it!
I'm a very pleased follower.
Penny those curtains are just gorgeous! You did a fabulous job. The whole room is so lovely!!
I like French Country with a bit of vintage shabby chicness!
Manuela
P.S. I washed the drop cloths before sewing, so the slipcover I made should be washable. I definitely think that's a project you can tackle too!
