Last year in October I held a blogger brunch and 16 bloggers from 4 different states showed up. We had a wonderful time. One of the bloggers was Rhondi from Rose Colored Glasses.
Rhondi and I have met a few times in person. She lives a couple of hours from me, so we have been able to develop a friendship beyond our blog.
Rhondi brought every one that attended the blog brunch some flower bulbs from her garden.
I planted them last fall, and today when I went outside, they were blooming.
Friendships and flowers....blooming.
Thank you again Rhondi. I think of you every time I see them.
edited to add: the flowers are called rain lily (zephyranthis).
Welcome Home,
Penny

What a beautiful memory to share.
I love it! Mine did not grew but I think my soil has some issues since not much seems to be growing. Hey Penny, are we doing another blogger's brunch? ;D It was such a great time!

That was a lovely day and you all were so sweet. My flower blooms in my dil's garden and is spreading beautifully.
Penny, love your post! Do you know what the flower is? I had it come up this past spring. A blogger's brunch...sounds like a great way to spend a day. Bonnie
Wonderful gift, Penny!!
What a nice gift! And every time they bloom, you shall think of your friend.

This is so sweet! I had a friend that moved to another town and we exchanged some bulbs from our gardens to keep the memories going. I like Rhondi...I haven't seen her blogging too much lately, hope she is doing well and hope that you are having a good weekend. It's raining here. :-(
XO,
Jane

Penny,
I am so glad they are blooming! You were so sweet to mention it. I miss you too. Since I am working I am not doing anything creative around my house to write about, but I miss blogging.I've got to figure out a way of doing both!
Hugs, Rhondi
How precious! I too have flowers in my garden that remind me of friends and they remind me every year:>) You are so lucky to live close enough to meet Rhondi!
Penny, that was the best day. When is the next one?? Your flowers look great.
That was a great idea for a gift Rhondi had. It must be nice to have a blogging friend that's not too far away to get together with.
The flowers are blooming nicely.
A gift from a friend's garden is always so special, and a nice reminder of your day together.
The flowers are gorgeous, but then NC has so many beautiful plants that won't grow elsewhere.

Penny, first off, I envy your friendship with Rhondi. I miss her blog posts!
Secondly, the rain lilies are a favorite plant in my own garden. They are such a surprise. They burst into bloom right after a rain. Not that I've seen them bloom here in many months, but I know they will again some day. What a special gift! It sounds just like the person I would think Rhondi is.
Some how I lost mine! =( Yours are so pretty!
Oh what a special and thoughtful gift. Love them. Hugs, Marty
O, Penny, how special is this. I just love this post. You and Rhondi are both such sweet ladies..it is only right that you have become fast friends. I LOVE the bulb for a gift idea. Perfect...

How lovely that you and Rondi were able to meet and what a beautiful gift. The type of gift that keeps on giving, just like friendship. Hope you are having a great weekend. Tammy

Those bulbs are a great gift idea. I think I've seen the flowers but never known their name.

What a wonderful idea, blogging is such a great way to build friendships. Lovely flowers, and now every year when they bloom you can celebrate that friendship.
