On The Fringe

On The Fringe of Recovery

I want to thank you all for still following this silly blog of mine, even though I have not posted any decorating or gardening posts for a while.

As you know I had rotator cuff surgery in December and have been spending the last couple of months healing.  It is almost a full time job.  Going to physical therapy 2 times a week and spending a couple of hours each day at home, doing home therapy exercises at home take up a lot of my time.

It has been almost 10 weeks since the surgery and I am doing well.  Not totally back to normal, but getting there.

Starting next week, I am going to start working on some of those projects on my side bar.  Of course, I will take before, during and after pictures to show you.

(Home pillow pictured above made by Kathy at Kathy's Cottage)
So soon you will be seeing this blog get back to normal.  Thanks for hanging in there!

Don't forget to keep checking back in.  As soon as I reach 650 followers, I am having a giveaway!  Have a great weekend!
Welcome Home,
Penny
p.s. I took some of your advice.  I decided to start weighing myself on Friday, instead of Monday.  So the results will be posted on the sidebar on Fridays now.

  7. I love all those pillows Penny! It is understandable that your blog hasn't had gardening or decorating things on it since your surgery. You are almost back to normal and that is time enough to start blogging like you used to. Congratulations on almost reaching 650, I know you will soon!

  18. Penny, I'm so glad to hear you're doing better. Healing takes longer than we think (or want). I'm the impatient sort, so I would have had a hard time of it.

Looking forward to more of your wonderful decorating projects this spring.

  19. What? It hasn't been normal? It's been a great visit every time I've been here, my friend. And, of course, if you win, you may crack the dishes upside their little heads. :D

  20. I'm so glad that you are coming along well!!! My husband had to have that surgery, so I'm familiar with it, some. Please do keep doing what you are advised to do, by your medical experts. Don't rush, I mean. :-)

And as to crafting and gardening posts... I didn't even know you do those usually, I guess. Being new here. I don't do either crafting or gardening so I have not missed them!!!! :-) So see, not all your Dear Readers are patiently waiting for you to get back "to normal," as you call it. :-)

    Gentle hugs...

  24. I'm so glad to hear you are healing, slowly but surely. And there's nothing silly about your blog ~ it is one of my absolute favorites. :) Sometimes you just have to take a break and left your body heal.
I just love your new header ~ it's perfect for spring. And I love the copper pot with daffodils in it ~ how sweet. And I'm jealous of the meal at Biltmore, diet or not. :)

  32. Hi Penny, I have missed you too and so happy you stopped by. And I am sorry to hear you had surgery and I so understand about the years of misuse or just plain use. We try so hard to exercise with our golf, tennis, etc. but it takes its toll in other ways. Doesn't seem fair to me. :( All my years of pounding tennis on the hard courts has caught up with me I am afraid and it seems all my joints hurt these days. Anyway, ....so glad you are mending well. :) Love that floor in your studio. xoxo Lynn

  38. The main thing is to keep getting better. Those things can wait, but our health is much more important. When that is fixed you can go full blast with the gardening and all the aches and pains that come with it! Which is why I'm sitting here moaning and groaning oh why did I do all of that?!

  39. gorgeous pillows ! so happy to have found your blog!

  40. Penny dear, we are so pleased to know you're almost back in the saddle, so to speak..........it's definitely been a long, painful ride. Keep up the good work and don't be trying to do all those waiting projects too soon.....you know we can wait. YOU are worth waiting for, and besides, you've kept your blog very interesting even though you were limited!!

    Love you, Mary & Bob
