Let's Talk About Summer!

Let's talk about summer, ok?

Do you have any summer plans?  Are you taking a vacation to someplace fun?  Planning picnics?  Going boating?

I am planning on dining out under the pergola.  Picking veggies fresh from my potager.  Going on hikes in the mountains.  Maybe taking a road trip.

What about you? Let's talk!
Welcome Home,
Penny

  1. Ha! I just published a snowy post while thinking about Summer. We don't do many road trips during the warmer months, preferring Spring and Fall. We are about to make arrangements for our annual Fall getaway.

Our Summertime days are spent at the lake. It's always like a vacation, while we are there. So that is our plan for Summer.

Perhaps planting an indoor herb garden that is portable is another thing we've been considering. Pots of herbs that can be easily packed up for lake trips.

  2. Mostly I will be working, but I will be savoring every moment of the joy of the season.

I can't wait to begin filling my pots with pretty flowers.

  3. I'm hoping for sunny days at the lake, a lot of company visiting, working in the garden, lots of antiquing, a short trip or two and my sons wedding in August!

  5. No plans yet. Just a lot of yard work. We are thinking of making a large island in the front and having less grass. That is what I am hoping for.

  6. The road trip may depend on gas prices...lol...We are planning on going to a Coast Guard 40 footers reunion in Staten Island in June but everything else will be local. A few sports car shows and spending fun times locally. I'd love to put in a raised garden but might do containers. Not much else planned.

  7. Dining outside, definitely!....working in the garden, long walks along the shore, coffee under an umbrella at Ottavio's, a few short road trips to test my husband's stamina....looking forward to it all!

  8. Hi Penny! Love that sunflower picture! We had thought about going to Yellowstone Park, but with the increase in airline fares, I think we're going to opt to go somewhere in Florida that we've never been...possibly the Keys.

  11. Sounds like what we'll be doing. Can't wait for fresh tomatos from the garden. Our 40th wedding anniversary is next Jan. Thinking about taking a Hawaiian Island cruise next winter. (Wait, that makes me 1 year old when we married!!) How can that be?? Mimi

  12. One summer I am planning an RV road trip that will be a cross country trip based on destinations where my blogger friends live. I plan on stopping by and saying hi and seeing them in person. Hubs thinks its a great idea, and we can share a road adventure with puncuation marks along the way. Not this summer, but one summer soon. This summer I am planning on gardening and knocking a hole in the wall of the dining room to install a french door where I can access a simple patio, yet to be installed. I'll be hitting Marthas Vineyard for a week or two to say hi to mom and dad. So thats about it for my summer plans! I bet you can't wait to be 100% so you can work on your pergola dining area and gardens.

  14. Very cheerful post and I love your header. Still, it's much too early for me to think about summer. I'm just barely allowing myself to consider spring. :D
