It has been grey and gloomy here the past several days. It is hard to take pictures inside my house when it is gloomy.
So I decided to start dreaming about some summer projects.
This is a picture of the back of my house. I took this picture the day we bought the house. There have been changes to the backyard...including the pergola that is under construction and my kitchen garden, since this photo was taken.
See the single window on the porch to the left? I would love to have a potting bench built somewhere around there. I think I want it actually at the end of the porch, between the column and the house wall.
This one looks nice....

The potting bench sounds wonderful Penny.
I think J is dreaming too. I saw him with a seed catalog the other day.:-)
Great idea and you have the perfect back porch for it!
Hi Penny!!
Your home is beautiful!!!
Love to see photos of it in the summer.
Pamela :)
Maybe even an "L" shaped nook...it'd be a great spot for a potting bench.
Hi Penny,
I love to day dream too! I think the potting bench would look great under the window..
Me too, Me too I'm also addicted to decorating books..LOL
I hope you are feeling better!
Have a sweet day and big hugs, Elizabeth
Somewhere on the internet there's a "pattern" for a potting bench made out of 2X4's. It was kind of cute. And not too hard to build. I need some summer dreaming too. Mimi
That's a pretty bench - and I just know you'd have it looking just right.
Penny, that would be a great place for one. I have been wanting one, too.
Hi Penny! Thanks for letting us dream along with you! I can't wait for the final reveal of all of your backyard changes. And I'm sure a potting bench will be among them! :-)

Penny, a potting bench would be perfect at the end of the porch. Mine is in our garage, and I find that I rarely use it other than for storing garden things. Good luck with the project. ~ Sarah
That would be a lovely location for a potting bench. We left NC this morning and are finally back in Fl. Had a great time seeing family.
I have always wanted a potting bench...I usually fill my pots on my grass...pretty hard on the knees and back! You have the perfect location though so I hope your wish comes true. Have a great week!
A potting bench would be perfect. I finally have one and I love it...except it was built a little too high for me. You have the perfect spot picked out and I know you will love having a potting bench.
I think that would look great in that spot on your front porch! It's nice to be daydreaming about Spring, isn't it? ~Hugs, Patti
A potting bench would be lovely right where you've picked!
Your home is lovely and that bench is so fun I'm sure it would look great on your porch. I'm looking forward to spring to get out in the yard and see some sunshine!
That will make a pretty place to pot and display plants. I'm getting the itch for some flowers, and spring and green, and the feel of potting soil on my hands!
The back of your house is so pretty, and that would be a wonderful place for a potting bench. Even though I am also longing for Spring, I love your header. That clittle bird house covered in snow is just so cute. laurie
A potting bench would be lovely there Penny. You have such wonderful taste.

Perfect idea and perfect location. I would love a potting bench outside, too.
Dreaming of spring/summer is such a pleasure. I like the potting bench and think you have the perfect place for it. Hope to see one there this summer :-)

Oh, I think that's a fabulous idea! I like the one you chose in the photo.
I'm dreaming of summer too, everyday....
Hugs,
Donna
Oh YES Penny! That potting table would do just fine for sure! Love the ideas you plan.
Here we had a bit of a freeze for a few days but no more...SUN is heating things up again to mid 70's!! Sending you some sunshine!
I have a potting bench inside my detached garage as everything I plant must go in pots, so I need many bags of potting soil nearby. Your porch spot looks perfect!
I totally love potting benches and the one you like is so cute.
Looks like the perfect place to me!
Hi Penny, what a cute bench.. something like that under that window would look lovely! It would be a feature in itself. Thanks so much for popping by my blog.. take care, Maryann
Yes,most necessary for gardeners...that would work.
Your home is HUGE !!! I bet you are enjoying it. It's loveely.
Rose
I love that potting bench. Think I need to show it to my sweetheart and leave lots of hints!
~Adrienne~
ok..... I saw what would make the perfect potting bench at a consignment store Wednesday....it was black wrought iron. Very french country. It would also be a perfect summer serving bar too. :)
Penny, your home is truly stunning!!!!
Go for it Penny - it would be the perfect spot close to your kitchen garden.
Mine sits on the front porch, more decorative and a place for birdhouses, china and bits and bobs! It's made from doors and window parts, bright lime green now peeling back to blue, quite quirky and one of the first items I bought when I discovered SuzAnna's Antiques years ago!
I just best K will build you a beauty!!
