Another Project Planned for 2011

Another of the home projects I hope to tackle this year is my stairway wall.

This is how it looks now.

A little over a year ago Susan from Between Naps on The Porch, did a post on her stairway wall and gave some tips.  Here is her wall below - you can click on her name to link to the post.

Doesn't Susan's wall look great?  I plan on doing something similar with my stairway wall this year.  When I am able to tackle it I will do a before and after post.

Welcome Home
Penny

P.S. We got 6 inches of snow last night. Atlanta has shut down!

Good luck Penny! I have the same goal, found a few extra things to put in my stairway when I was christmas shopping so of course I bought something for myself too. I can't wait to see how yours turns out. Everything you do looks so great.

Hi Penny, I see there are a few of us with the same stairway goal. I'm papering the inside of the soon to be installed molding boxes. I can't wait, since I've had the paper since last June! We'll compare stairs when we're done!!

Your new home is very lovely, Penny. Your stairwell is very similar to Susan's so you should be able to achieve a similar result. I love the mix of mirrors and old photographs.

Hi Penny! Your stairwell is very pretty and I love the window with all the light pouring through at the top! :)
You're going to have an entire list of projects to do by the time you're all mended! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Look forward to seeing how you decorate your beautiful creamy (yellow) stairway wall!

I too love that and would like to do similar, but with 9&5 year olds, it may not be so realistic, sigh...I will live thru you all and yours:)

It it were anyone else showing us all these plans I'd be thinking "that's biting off an awful lot!", but having seen what you accomplished in 2010, I know that you'll do all this - and more!

Looking forward to seeing your stair wall, Penny. I should do something like that. Ours is a short stair wall. Might give it a try.

It's going to be so great! Don't you just love the blog inspirations? Mimi

Hi Penny, I hope you heal quickly because you are taking on quite a few projects. Smile. I like the stair well idea. a photo gallery is a warm homey feeling. And you can take some with the knowledge you are learning about your camera.

I have decorated my laundry room with 1950's cross stitched laundry bags, clothes pin holders and wash boards etc. I love it but it is very busy. I like all of your ideas. Decorating IS my passion.

Take care and do the therapy Penny.
Hugs, Jeanne

Do you know I have lived here over twenty years, and I still haven't decided what or if I want to hang something on my stair wall. Every time I think I've decided on something, I lose my vision.

I can't wait to see yours. Maybe you can help me make up my mind, too.

I've had my staircase wall lined with family photos since my children were young. I loved to see their faces growing up through the years, and now I'm adding my grandson's photos. I like Susan's use of mirrors!

Love that idea! Can't wait to see yours.

Hi Penny, just checking in on you. Stay warm and listen to your Doctor for your shoulder. I hope you aren't snowed in like we are. I have canceled two appointments so far. We can't even see our road and it is still snowing. All schools are closed so we have tried to stay warm and just rest up after all the traveling we have done.
Warm hugs, Jeanne

I love the color of your walls in the hallway, Penny. Can't wait to see your finished project. How are you dealing with the snow? We're getting some in PA right now. Good luck with the camera. I've often thought, "if only I would read the manual...."

see you there! said...

That's an interesting bit on the right where your railing goes into or attaches to the molding. I know whatever you do is going to be a great use of the space.

I no longer have a stairway, but that was one of the things I had thought about doing way back when. Yours would look just as good!
