White Christmas Indeed!

I know I said I was on a blog break until New Years, but I just had to tell you a sweet Christmas story and show you some beautiful pictures.

We woke up Christmas morning around 7AM and 5 minutes later it started snowing.  We were suppose to get between 1-3 inches, and we ended up with about 9 inches.
Our back yard.

The garden sitting area.

The fire pit.

So.......Our company that was suppose to come for Christmas day and dinner, could not make it off their mountain.  Mr. Comforts of Home and I thought we would be having Christmas dinner all by ourselves.

But....our sweet neighbors called.  They were not able to go where they were suppose to and invited us over for Christmas dinner.

So we bundled up, and hike through the snow to our neighbors and had a lovely Christmas dinner.  After all Christmas is about sharing and giving isn't?

My surgery is scheduled for 2PM Wednesday...I will post a few days after, when I am able.

Surgery Planned...and Merry Christmas!

This is a III Part Post.

Part I
There were 57 entries in the Ramsign Giveaway.  I used the Random.org generator and number 20 is the winner.
Number 20 is Sherry at No Minimal Here.  Congrats Sherry!  I will be emailing you the details.

Part II
I know if you have been following the last few weeks, you know I injured my shoulder.  I had a MRI on the 16th and met with the doctor today for the results.  I definitely have a torn rotator cuff and a bone spur.  I will be having surgery December 29th to repair it.  I will be in a sling for about 4 weeks with therapy.  I should be totally healed in 6-9 months.  The good news is that I am getting it fixed now, instead of waiting when there could be more complications.  Other good news is that I will be encouraged to use my elbow, wrist and fingers, so I should be able to type and probably even mosaic...fingers crossed!

Part III

I want to wish you all Peace on Earth, a very Merry Christmas and a healthy, prosperous New Year!  I am taking a blog break until the New Year.

Penny

Favorite Ornaments

Our tree is decorated with all glass ornaments, that we have collected over time.
I can't seem to get a good photo of the whole tree, but here are a few of my favorite ornaments.

Every Country French decorated home needs a rooster ornament, don't they?

And I love this stocking, it has the prettiest colors on it.

Do you hang candy canes on your tree?

Don't forget to sign up for the CSN $60 giveaway.  The giveaway ends Friday, 17th and winner will be announced Saturday the 18th.  Sign up by clicking here and leaving a comment on the giveaway post.

Could you do me a favor?  I had mentioned that I was in a local newspaper photo contest.  The contest ends Dec. 20.  I know some of you have voted for me already.  The top 4 pictures win a prize. Right now I am number 5.  Could you please click here to go to this post and vote again?  If you could vote everyday that would be great....Only if you have time.  Thanks!

A Little More Christmas

Here is a little more Christmas around our house.  We are keeping things a little simpler  this year.

Some green apples in a basket, and fresh rosemary wrapped in burlap on my kitchen counter.

Sleigh and reindeer on a burlap cloth.

Our home colors and decor call for gold mercury glass instead of the silver kind.

The mantel...I started out with real greens, but the fireplace is too hot and the greens dried right out.  So back to the faux greens...

I am joining Kim at Savvy Southern Style Boring to Better Party this week...and Linda of Coastal Charms Christmas Open House

A Winter Pergola

The pergola construction came to a halt this past weekend.  Our temperature dropped in the teens and we had snow.  I thought I would show you the progress so far.

The top boards still have to be added.  Mr. Comforts of Home will get back out there when the snow leaves and the temperature rises....

In the meantime, the pergola got a little holiday dressing too.

p.s. you have asked about my shoulder.  It is still the same.  MRI on Thursday.

Where Was It - And A Boo Boo

This post will be short, because I am typing it with one hand.  I spent most of the day in the emergency room.  It seems I tore ligaments in my left shoulder.
I am left handed.  I have a sling type contraption on.  It could be 4-6 weeks to heal.

So posts, and comments on your post will be few.  Please make sure you are signed up as a follower, to see when I post again.

Sorry - no decorating pictures.  Hard to decorate with just one arm.

Weekend Where Is it?    The first pic was Savannah Ga.  The second picture of a steeple in Les Andelys, France.

Christmas Tree Farm Visit

This morning Mr. Comforts of Home and I went to our favorite Christmas tree farm.  It is way out in the mountains and a beautiful drive.  The weather was perfect!  Sunny and about 42 degrees.

Eennie meenie minee mo....hard to pick just one!  They are all so beautiful.

Speaking of beautiful, the picture below is just one of the views from the tree farm.  I love the cows grazing in the field.  Did you see how blue the sky was?

We found the perfect tree and Mr. Comforts is making sure it stays on the car for the 45 minute ride home.

I am spending the weekend decorating the tree, house and front door.  I will post pictures on Monday!

Like frosty is saying...see you in two days! (double click on the pictures to enlarge)

I was traveling last weekend and skipped a week of Weekend Where Is It?  So here we go with this weeks version.

Weekend ~ Where Is It?

I am going to show you two similar pictures. You tell me which one you think it is in the United States and which one is in Europe. All of the pictures shown each week, will be pictures I have taken.

Picture One

Picture Two

So, which one is in Europe and which one is in the United States?  I will reveal the answer on Monday.

In the meantime, I am spending the weekend decorating.  Pictures coming soon!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree....

While in Naples, Florida last week, I went shopping at  a place called Waterside Shops.  It is very upscale, with a Tiffany's, Coach, Hermes, Burberry, Ralph Lauren and more.

I really wasn't shopping, just ogling all of the amazing stores and Christmas decorations.

I have not started decorating yet.  I am a little behind, due to my trip.

So, I thought I would show you some Florida style decorating.  Isn't fun to see, how different areas of the country decorate?  You really need to double click on the pictures to see how fun these trees are!

I will be decorating over the next 4 days, and will post some photos as I go along.
