Surgery Planned...and Merry Christmas!

This is a III Part Post.

Part I
There were 57 entries in the Ramsign Giveaway.  I used the Random.org generator and number 20 is the winner.
Number 20 is Sherry at No Minimal Here.  Congrats Sherry!  I will be emailing you the details.

Part II
I know if you have been following the last few weeks, you know I injured my shoulder.  I had a MRI on the 16th and met with the doctor today for the results.  I definitely have a torn rotator cuff and a bone spur.  I will be having surgery December 29th to repair it.  I will be in a sling for about 4 weeks with therapy.  I should be totally healed in 6-9 months.  The good news is that I am getting it fixed now, instead of waiting when there could be more complications.  Other good news is that I will be encouraged to use my elbow, wrist and fingers, so I should be able to type and probably even mosaic...fingers crossed!

Part III

I want to wish you all Peace on Earth, a very Merry Christmas and a healthy, prosperous New Year!  I am taking a blog break until the New Year.
Welcome Home,
Penny

  1. Be careful with the recovery. The "100% healed" myth can be severely hampered by some actions. I wish you well.

  5. Penny, Wow, I was just headed to bed and decided to read your post first. I am so excited to be the winner of this sign! I have wanted one of these since I first saw them all over Europe. Thank you so very much.

I hope your surgery goes well. My husband had torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders and I know how painful this can be. He elected to have physical therapy and not surgery. Luckily the injuries healed but it did take almost a year. Best of luck with your surgery.
    Thanks again,
    Sherry

  9. I had been wondering about the MRI results. I am glad you are having it repaired, and I know it is a long recovery. But, I also know that you are a hard worker, and you will be their superstar. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Where will you be having your surgery, and do the plan on doing it as outpatient? Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Congratulations to Sherry for this exciting win. And, thank you for giving us all this great opportunity.

Merry Christmas to you and your family, dear Penny.

  35. Penny dear, we are sorry that the surgery is required because it will keep you somewhat limited in what you can do for a while. The good thing is your tenacity and positive outlook on life will definitely assure you of a complete recovery! This is a painful injury (I had a rotator cuff problem last year but not torn so managed to heal with physio) - it's a pain in the you know what too - but therapy is very important to assure a complete recovery.

Our love and best wishes go out to you and Kent for the holidays, and for a happy New Year - we hope to see you again soon.

Stay warm, know we're praying for you, and tell those docs to do a great jog and get you well again asap.

Thanks for the delightful card Penny.

Love and hugs - Mary & Bob
