Here is a little more Christmas around our house. We are keeping things a little simpler this year.
Some green apples in a basket, and fresh rosemary wrapped in burlap on my kitchen counter.
Sleigh and reindeer on a burlap cloth.
Our home colors and decor call for gold mercury glass instead of the silver kind.
The mantel...I started out with real greens, but the fireplace is too hot and the greens dried right out. So back to the faux greens...

Oh no the walls in the photos are tempting me.
I didn't even know that there was such a thing as gold mercury glass. It really looks warm and wonderful. Faux greenery is perfect for mantels that are used. It frightens me when people use the real thing in such situations. It may be simpler, but it looks simply elegant to me. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow!
and Thursday! (Don't mind me, I lost a day.)
Your home is so beautiful, you don't need a lot of decorations. It is just so very bright and pretty.
Penny, I am going simpler next year, I think. I love your home decorated for Christmas. Join my party if you would like.
Your home is simply lovely. I bet you can combine the Thanksgiving Holiday and Christmas decorations. I love to do that. So beautiful. You are blessed.
Merry Christmas,
Bren
Very pretty Penny, looks like to me that you have all the right ingredients for Christmas! :D
I think you've done a great job with your decorating...simple and elegant.

Hi Penny, Your home is just beautiful, so warm and welcoming. I hope you are feeling better, Happy Holiday's to you and your family and thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us. Terri
Hi Penny. Your house looks so nice for the holiday season. I attempted to decorate a little bit over the week-end, good thing because now a cold is setting into my throat and sinuses. Hot tea sitting here on my desk so hopefully that will help. Wishing you all things bright and beautiful this holiday season..

Hi Penny, thanks for becoming a follower, I appreciate the support! Your home is lovely. I like gold mercury glass. It would work in my house, too, and I'll be looking for some after Christmas. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season.
Just beautiful.
Thank you Penny for joining!
Your house looks beautiful. It looks so warm and welcoming. I adore your gold mercury glass, it's perfect in your home.
I hear it is very cold in NC! Bundle up and stay warm. Good luck with your dr. appointment.
Gorgeous! Love that chicken wire stand on your kitchen counter.
Penny, it all looks warm and inviting. Love the tree in front of the doors. I scrolled down to the recent posts I'd missed. You're in a winter wonderland of your own.
Happy Holidays ~ Sarah
Brrr! Another cold morning for heading out to work. I am still enjoying the last of my cup of coffee.
It is looking like Christmas in your home. I am amazed at what you are accomplishing with an injury. Everything looks wonderful, and I love the tree in front of the doors.
Your decorations are gorgeous Penny. Very festive. Hope you are better each day. Good luck at the doctor's office and stay warm.

I love the tree in front of the windows. Actually what I like best is the feeling of space around the tree which the windows help provide. So many trees get shoved into a corner because that is the only way to accomodate them.

Your home looks beautiful Penny.I don't think I have ever seen gold mercury glass but it is just as pretty as the silver but warmer. I have gone simpler this year too and I find the less cluttered look is still pretty but so much cleaner looking, and I dont dread taking it all down in a few weeks!
Penny, your decorations look beautiful! I love the gold mercury glass on your mantel-you are right the gold is better suited for your home. I used silver mecury glass on my mantel this year and I love it!
Hi Penny,
Your home is gorgeous! You do such a good job making it warm and cozy! And by the way, I love your header:)

Penny, It's so elegant and lovely!!!
Just lovely, Penny! I like how you have rooms open to each other; it kind of lets the decorations flow from one room to the other even when doing simple. I have some real greens from my yard hanging out on my dining room light fixture and I'm hoping they hold out for Christmas!
Hi Penny,
How pretty everything looks. Your home is perfectly dressed up to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. I hope your are feeling better!!!have a Merry Christmas and blessed New Year!
big hugs, Elizabeth

Very beautiful! I love lots of greenery...of any description! I had to take my pinecones out...I saw a couple of bugs come out of them! heehee! Stay warm and take care of your arm! ♥
Beautiful............ I love how you make vignettes from your Christmas pretties!
Everything looks so lovely Penny! That first picture of your tree in the distance is just perfect and I love the gold mercury glass instead of silver. I haven't seen much of that but I'm going to be watching for it now! :-)

Your home looks very elegant and festive, Penny.
I started out going more simple this year as I try to do every year and then I lost my mind one day and next thing you know it looks like Christmas exploaded here. Good for you for sticking to your original plans. Everything looks very pretty!
Penny, I really like the simplicity of your Christmas decor. All the glittery gold is so pretty. Hope your shoulder starts to heal. I tore my rotator cuff in both shoulders 5 years ago, and I know the pain it causes, even now. Enjoy the holidays. ~ Sue
It's all beautiful Penny!
Hi Penny! Oh, your Christmas decor is gorgeous! I love your pretty mantle and all the light in your home is wonderful - I'm envious - my home is so dark!
I hope and pray your healing well.
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)

Love the gold mercury glass, I didn't know there was such a thing! I've never seen anything but the silver. Your home looks lovely, sometimes less is more!
