Some Things Just Don't Work Out

Remember the project I told you I was working on with these?

Well, the project just didn't work.....

In fact it was a big ole stinking mess!  I am not going to tell you what it was, because I might try it again, differently someday.

Anyway, I did create some fun things with the burlap coffee bags.
They are for sale at Lavender Hill Studio.
Welcome Home,
Penny
p.s.  We have 7 bloggers coming to the brunch so far!  For all of you that are coming.  I will send an email out Oct 1st with my address, Map Quest directions and my phone number.  So if your email is not in your profile, you are going to need to email me.

Penny,
Somehow I just can't imagine one of your projects turning into a mess. The little foot stool covered in burlap is darling.

Wow, Penny, this party is sounding like it will be well attended. I will definitely be there.

Love the footstool projects. The other project??? You know what they say...try, try, again. smile. Good luck.

Well, I feel so much better about my many failed projects if someone as talented as YOU could have something not go according to plan! I LOVE that stool though and you can definitely say that it was an idea that worked out!

Hi Penny, the stools look great! Sometimes when I'm not sure about something I just let it sit for a while till it comes to me and then try again. I am working on a lamp at the moment and want to try something different but I'm not sure which way to go with it so it's just sitting there where I can see it all the time. I know you'll work it out in the end. take care, Maryann

Well, I don't have a guess what you were going to do but I love the stools. Love the pairing of the stained wood and the burlap. Although a shabby red stool would have looked great, too! You know I love the red :-)

The stools are adorable! Yeah, some projects just don't turn out the way you plan. I have had that happen plenty of times.

I'm sorry about your project...

Those covered projects turned out cute...the bench and stool.

Mapquest maps sound great...much better than depending upon GPS. ;D

Cute foot stools, Penny. I'm still trying to decide what to do with my burlap coffee sacks. I need to wash them first.
Oh, how I'd love to be a guest at your brunch to actually meet you and the others and to see that beautiful new home. I trust you'll share lots of photos.

Like everyone else, I'm trying to figure out how anything you put your hand to could possibly be other than great.
Still wishing I lived closer.........

Well, whatever the project was, I am glad that you found another creative way to use the coffee sacks. The bench and foot stool are super cute.

Penny, The footstools are wonderful! Hey, we all have our failed projects...me probably more than most! Take care, Sherry

I'm inspired by the fact that if a project doesn't turn out you immediately use the supplies for something else. Your mind must be in the creative mode at all times.

Great stools.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one whose projects don't always turn out how they're envisioned! Sometimes don't we have to make lemonade with the lemons? Mimi

I love the burlap covered stools! They turned out great even though your other project didn't work out. Sometimes this happens!

Were you making pillows with the burlap? The bench came out so pretty, so not all was lost!

The bench and the footstool are fabulous. Hmmm...I think you were either going to redo cupboard doors or make a screen of some type. Now you have made us all wonder what it was...or is yet going to be.
You are so incredibly talented and it's always a pleasure to see your work. My goodness, NC sounds great in the fall!!!

I was thinking of you, and decided to take a minute break at work to visit.

The footstools look great. I am confident you will get another inspiration to try. Of course, I like everything you do.

I'm going to look for a white pumpkin (fake) this weekend. I think I want to try stenciling a black fleur-de-lis. I believe I "need" one in our breakfast room.

Well the stool looks great!! Someday are not for creating...things just don't go the way it is in your mind.
be well.

Penny, I have had some jewelry projects not work out and it is disappointing. I do love what you did create out of the coffee bags though!

I am pretty sure I can come to the Brunch but I just have to check one more thing out (a knitting class I might have signed up for). I think it is the weekend before, but I'll let you know.

I think we all have some projects that just don't work out the way we want them too! But we always move on to something new. I love the burlap looks good!

Kathleen Grace said...

Darn! I was so curious about what you were doing! Guess I'll have to wait to find out. DOn't worry, we all have projects that never seem to work out, being willing to try something is what makes us successful do-it-yourselfers:>) I sure wish i could come to your blog party, Earl and I were just looking at a job opening in Waynesville, NC. Is that pretty close to you? If it is, keep your fingers crossed becasue he is going to apply for it:>)

These little stools are delightful. I just love anything covered in burlap. These coffee bags are perfect.

Okay I'm coming to brunch...sigh I wish! Someday I am going to meet you in person Penny, I just know it! We are waiting for Hurricane Earl tomorrow, should be interesting.

Have a lovely lovely bloggers brunch.

I can't imagine you ever creating anything that wouldn't be just fabulous.

Brunch at your place sounds totally awesome. One of my best friends lives in Candler, NC. I was there for a weekend this summer. But have yet to visit Asheville.

Have a great weekend. :) Tammy
