Road Trip

We have been traveling for the past week.  I scheduled blogs to post while I was away.  If I haven't visited you this week, now you know why!  I will catch up this weekend.

We went to upstate NY for our niece's wedding.  It was so beautiful.  She got married in a beautiful state park called Stony Brook State Park.  The guests and the wedding party hiked along a rambling river to a water fall for the ceremony.

It was probably the most beautiful wedding I have ever been too.

I need to catch up on my garden (no rain while we were gone and it looks pretty sad :-( ).  I need to do a weeks worth of travel laundry.  I need to grocery shop.

So I will be back in a couple of days after I catch up.

Welcome Home,
Penny

It sounds like an original and beautiful wedding! I'm happy the weather was nice!

We have been having tons of storms and rain. Our power has gone out twice. I need some sun!

How beautiful! I love how weddings are becoming more personalized and less by the book. I think it gives more meaning and a special feeling to the day. Have fun catching up with your garden and being back home:>)

What a lovely spot for a wedding.
I have to confess, that when I read your title I thought 'A road trip? I hope she's put down all that mulch!'

Coming home is HARD work, isn't it? We got home 2 weeks ago, and I'm still able to relax in the evenings, so I guess it worked! Enjoy, and hurry back to us!

Hi Penny,

What a lovely place for a wedding. Glad to hear that you had a fun trip. Your garden is looking wonderful and I hope it did not get too dry while you were away. A little water perks up most anything.
Have a lovely weekend.
Blessings,
Erin

Do you have wedding pics to share. Sounds like a beautiful spot of a wedding...I love the mountains. Wish I was up to hiking! One of these days and hope it will not be long! Yes, I did have a second surgery. Hopefully this is going to take care of my foot and no more!

What a creative bride and groom. I love the idea of a wedding out in a natural setting. Hope we get to see some photos.

Glad it was a great trip and beautiful wedding! Would have been nice if your fairy godmother (or some strong guy) had come by and emptied all those bags of mulch while you were away!!!
No rain here either and it was 105 on Thurs. Every day so hot, I can't stand it. We're heading North this coming week - New England and Canada it just has to be cooler there!

Hi Penny, your road trip and wedding sounds great. There is nothing more romantic to make one smile, than a beautiful wedding. Love the photo of the stream. How sad that your battery died. It HAS happened to me and I am sure, countless others.

I laughed at your 34 bags of mulch. I can definitely relate to that. Your yard is looking gorgeous. Lots of mulch, less weeds. The bonus for all the hard work.
Hugs, Jeanne
