A few years ago, I purchased the decorating book, Carolyn Westbrook Home.
I really like her decorating style. It is a little French, a little country, a little cottage.
This picture below captured my attention, because of the rooster pictures (and the toile, ironstone, vintage books, rooster statue, etc.)
I already had two rooster paintings that Donna, of Donna's Art/Mourning Dove Cottage, had painted me.
So I asked Donna if she could paint one more. She said yes and a short while later, rooster painting number 3 arrived.
And here is how they all look together.
Thank you Donna! You made my inspiration picture come to life.
Welcome Home,
Penny

I was thinking..this looks like your house...and it does. Very lovely, but then I LOVE roosters and chickens, they live all over my home. My daughter (who is an artist) painted me one and I just love it so much! Come say hi :D

Big hugs,

Beautiful paintings!
Penny, you are so good at using an inspiration picture and making it your own.
The paintings are really lovely. They look so good grouped like that, and the frames are great they work so well together. A talented artist and a talented homemaker!
You're so welcome, Penny! I'm glad you like them. They look fabulous the way you have them framed and hung!
I'm happy I could make your inspiration picture come true.
xoxo
Hugs,
Donna
They are perfect in that space! And so much more special when you know and love the artist! Very nice! I love how bright and sunny your home is...I'm so glad I got to visit you! Enjoy your week! ♥
I like the roosters! You definitely needed three of them!
They are great and it really does look like the magazine! Beautiful!
Love your rooster paintings, Penny :)
Hello Miss Penny! Love those roosters (of course, we love Miss Donna!!) They look like they were meant to be there!
Have a lovely week!
Hi Penny! Oh, now you know how I'm a Rooster kind of gal. Love the painting.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Really pretty. Penny! Donna is so talented... I love her pet paintings
looks great. Love roosters. And love the slipcover chair in that book.
Penny, your rooster paintings are really nice and look great on your wall. Love & blessings from NC!
I haven't seen this book. Looks like a good one. I love that inspiration picture and your trio of roosters looks wonderful! I love the goldish frames they are in. Makes them look expensive.
Penny, these are gorgeous - and they look fantastic. You have a great eye for creating beauty.
And, I love Donna. Not only is she incredibly talented, she is incredibly nice, too.
You are two very special ladies.
What IS it about roosters and chickens that are so appealing? I think it is all about the nesting instincts! My daughter paints amazing roosters and I love your arrangement! I also have a thing about toile!! It makes a room so homey and comfortable. V.
Hi Penny, I purchased a great decorating book several years ago and the surprising thing was I used the exact design for my great room (not this house)that I found in the book. I loved that and loved the book for inspiration for years. Now, I have no idea where it is. We have boxes of books in our garage since we moved three years ago. My goal is to organize our garage this summer. Your inspiration is lovely. The result is perfectly done. Who doesn't love roosters? Your artist friend did a great job too.
I looked at your garden inspiration and can only think how much work it is. We are container gardening on the cabin deck. i will share it soon. Can't wait to see your dream garden when it is finished. THAT is a lot of dirt!!!
Hugs, Jeanen
Looks lovely Penny! I always think of you when I see Roosters, isn't that funny!
Well now, how cool is that?! So there is such a thing as a little bit this and a little bit that? I mean "officially." I just call what I do "Grandma's Attic." :D
Oh Penny, your home is so pretty. Love it when you share the pics. Nice painting of the rooster . . looks good. Happy Tuesday! Sandy
Looks great! Just love those paintings!
The painting look wonderful. Having someone you know do them makes them even more special!
I love them, Penny! Boy, you're making that home so beautiful in such a short time.
Brenda
The painting is so beautiful. There are so many of you talented bloggers. I just love to see bloggers decorate with other bloggers home made items. The book looks like it's just my style, a little of everything.

Oh, I just love Donna's work, especially her roosters and birds. I have one of her birds that she paints on wood. I imagine roosters are difficult to capture too. They look lovely together.
I am trying to redo my family room into my art studio. Can you please stop by for coffee and tips? I wish you lived closer. I am not a decorator. I have all of these lovely pieces, but clueless how to make it look pulled together.
Your home is gorgeous.
Karen
Penny,
I love your rooster pictures and they look even more special in those antique frames.
I can't believe how much you have gotten done in your house. It's looking great!
Hugs, Gretchen
