French Impressionist Landscape

When we travel, we are always on the look out for a piece of local art we can bring back home.  It could be pottery, a hand carved wood bowl or a painting.

When we were in France we spent some time in Art Galleries and looking at street artists in all of the cities we visited.  From Paris to Avignon, we were looking for that certain oil painting that captured the feel of French Country.

We found a charming art gallery on a side street in Avignon that dealt in local artists.  We purchased this beautiful painting called Chemin de Provence, which when loosely translated means "way of Provence".

The painting is by artist, Jean Lescure.  I love the way it looks in our bedroom.

I love impressionism....what type of art do you like?
Welcome Home,
Penny

What a wonderful painting! It's such a great reminder of your time in France and it's just perfect in your room. I'm ready to pack my bags travel again.

Penny this is a beautiful painting. Like you, we like to bring back something for our home when we travel. Art is always a good choice. It does look terrific in your bedroom. Thanks for the visit. Always good to have you stop by.

I love this painting...
and the night light. I have fallen so far behind in my visiting. This time of year, there's so much going on that I find it hard to sit at the computer much.
Your home is really coming along so pretty. And with Mr. COH building those raised beds...oh, my, how you are going to love that.
Can't wait to see them all full of good things growing..ummm!!

What a perfect remembrance to have from France! I love it, it makes me want to be in it! I love any kind of art that makes me "feel" it has to make me feel something from it. It looks nice there and I love the tiny stool under it! Come say hi :D

I'm afraid I'm not well versed in the styles of art but I do love your painting. I know that I like things to look like something familiar. No modern paint splatters for me!

Dawn

The piece of art you chose is lovely and looks perfect where you hung it. Any country scene is always wonderful to me..or flowers..I don't really know art very well at all..only what I like...and I like this a lot!!
More hugs,
Mona :)

Beautiful Penny! I love the frame and the artwork is just lovely. I tend to like floral paintings and family portraits on my walls, but I just love the idea of buying art to commemorate a trip!

Impressionism is my favorite. I fell madly in love with Renoir when I was a teenager, and he is still my favorite. Of course I love Monet and others, too, but I guess my first love holds true.

Your painting is perfect - and that frame is gorgeous.

Great painting Penny...chemin is translated as path or dirt road, so looks like you have a path or cart track to Provence...perfect!!

Penny, could you tell me what color is on the walls of your bedroom--that pretty soft yellow?
