Porch Idea #1

Add a beautiful chandelier to your porch.

It doesn't need to be wired, you can use candles (dripless).
Welcome Home,
Penny

I love this idea Penny, unfortunately we get so much wind up on our porch it would blow all over. Last year I tried hanging curtains from the porch and I was always fixing them, gotta come up with a better way this year.

I have an article I want to send you about mosaic work that was in our paper. I sent you an earlier email, but I think it must have gotten lost in cyberspace, because I have not heard back from you. Could you send your mailing address to me at: EmptyNestTales@gmail.com Thanks, and I will send that article on off to you. Love & blessings from NC!

That looks so pretty. It seems I recall Mary at Across The Pond has a chandelier on her front porch.

I want to spruce my porch up a bit. I've order a couple of throw pillows for the rocking chairs, and I want a large free-standing birdcage. I've been looking for a birdcage for years, but the perfect one hasn't been found - yet.

Hi Penny,
I couldn't comment on the porch post, there was no comment link there. I love that blue ceiling on the porch, and what a beautiful porch it is! I've never heard of it being done to ward off bugs, I have read somewhere way back in one of my Aunty's American historical architecture books, that it was done to simulate the sky. I remember it because I thought it was a fabulous idea, and if I ever had a porch, I'd love to paint the ceioling of it pale blue, just like that gorgeous photo! i can dream.....

Hi Penny,

Thank you for sharing the great ideas on decorating a porch. I love the idea of hanging an old window for privacy. I am going to try that.
Have a lovely blog break.
Blessings,
Erin

Our first home was an historic 1920's bungalow and the porch ceiling was baby blue. It was so calming and relaxing with our swing at one end...that idea of the window is not only adorable (don't hit your head) but I agree would make it feel more private. I'm looking at the pic on the post below and that looks amazing too! Lovely pics and ideas!
