Rooster

I love roosters.  They are soooo country French.  Here are some of the roosters I have in my home.

First, a rooster finial on top of a table lamp.

Next, an embroidered rooster pillow on a living room chair.

This rooster fabric covers my kitchen chairs.

A rooster lamp.

My favorite rooster sitting on my dining room hutch.
A rooster, hen and chicks sitting on a vintage French wine barrel lid turned into a lazy susan, in my kitchen.
A white rooster teapot on my cookbook shelf.
Some rooster paintings, by Donna, on a wall in my kitchen.
A pair of rooster on my kitchen table.

An outdoor rooster, waiting for spring.
I have purchased some of my roosters, and some were gifts.  I haven't showed all of them to you.  Do you think I have a problem? :-)
Do you have roosters?

p.s.  don't forget to take part in the poll on the top right side of the blog.  Only a couple more days left to participate!

Welcome Home,
Penny

  3. Sweet new friend...if you have a problem, then I must be totally gone because I love roosters and chickens and have lost count! My grand daughters were counting the other day and in was so high, you would die laughing! I have them in nearly every room and this is a pretty big house. Thats what happens when you get raised on a farm..it stays with you always! :D

  12. Penny, there many roosters living here too. I find them totally charming and definitely lend a French influence. So show us more.
I have the same little rooster finial, but I haven't used him on a lamp. He just sits among some little treasures in a bookshelf. I adore that white rooster teapot. Can you tell me more about it? Do you think it is still available?

  15. No, definitely not. You do not have a problem. Besides, if you have a problem, that means there are quite a few of us right there with you.

I actually saw a rooster somewhere the other day, and it made me think of you.

  19. You are not alone in your love of roosters! I have no idea how many roosters I have in my home. I started out with just decorating my kitchen with roosters, but they have moved into several rooms of my home. My family all knows that I like roosters, so you can guess what I receive lots of whenever they give me a gift. One of my nieces told me that I must have 100 roosters. You can never have too many roosters!

  20. My kitchen use to be full of chickens and roosters. Over the years I aquired quite a collection. I have almost gotten rid of all of them with only a few of my very favorites. Funny how our decorating changes over the years!

  27. Penny, I love roosters too. I have them on the kitchen rug near my kitchen island. I have them on my wing chair and back of my love seat...the same fabric you have but in yellow and blue. I have a great big ceramic rooster in my kitchen overseeing my cooking. My favorite rooster though is the one on an Antique print that I often use for creating hot air balloons.

Rooster Love...hmmm sounds like a great text for a pillow, don't you think.

P.S. Don't forget Tea Party Tuesday at Rhondi's.

The only rooster that I ever had was a real one …
    This was many years ago…
He was Japanese silky and he thought that he was the king
