BEFORE
Here is a picture of my studio, the day we closed on the house. Aug, 28, 2009.

AFTER
Today.....I have finally started working again in my studio! I need to hang my blackboard and a few other wall pieces, as well as some track lighting, but it felt good getting in here to work!
I love all of the space I have. It is so nice being able to have everything in one room instead of 3-4 different rooms.
I decided to use my old work table as my computer table, so I bought an inexpensive hollow core door and a couple of metal saw horses and put them together for my work table. It is a lot bigger and I can spread out more. I love the industrial loft look of my new work table and my storage shelves.

You are a wizard at creating magical spaces. I can't believe how much wider this room seems with your redo. I love it, and you must be so happy to be in here. I just cannot believe how much you and your husband have accomplished since you purchased this home.
Well, I think we need to make a toast...clink!

Wow!! Oh Penny your studio looks amazing!! Has anyone from that magazine about studios contacted you yet? Your studio definitely is magazine worthy. It's hard not to be a little envious, but I am really happy for you that you have such a beautiful functional space to work in. I'll mention your sale on my next post.
Hugs, Rhondi
I guess you don't need me to mention your sale on a post. I just went to your website and it looks like you've sold most of your items ( except that blue willow table which I am coveting and wish I could afford !)
Hugs again
Wow! That must be your dream work space! It's gorgeous, looks like something out of a movie set! Lucky you!
What a beautiful and spacious area to work in!! Amazing how even larger it looks with the new floor and paint job.
Wonderful makeover Penny, the room looks so much wider and brighter. Love the work table idea - looks perfect there and will give you a sturdy base to create beauty. Great job - looks so different from when we visited......and I hope so much to come back this year, pretty please!!!!
Some very lucky people will soon own your beautiful things - that's a very generous sale. Know you will soon be up to your elbows in snipped china and grout, starting all over again - you're the best!
Love, Mary.
Woo Hooness, Penny! Your studio is marvelous! I love all the whiteness and all of your space! How very blessed you are! You're going to be so creative in this new bright gorgeous space.

I LOVE your studio, Penny! You did a fabulous job. I think I'd be in there all the time.

Penny, your workroom is wonderful. A wonderful transformation. I too like the table legs (saw horses, a brilliant idea) and the table top a door. That's thinking. No surprise to me!!! It is serviceable and beautiful. Good job.
The bath and guest room are ready for company. It also looks lovely. I did decide to paint my guest room sage green too. A wonderful restful color. It isn't done yet though.
I will check out your grand prices later today. I am on my way out to meet Bill for lunch.
Hugs xoxo, Jeanne

I am absolutely pea-green with envy! I am saving this post because ever since you started showing this, I have been eyeing my attic space, thinking, "Hmmmm... strikingly similar to Penny's -- if only it were finished!" It might just come to fruition.
You have done a spectacular job on your new house.

I just can't wait to see what new inspiration comes out of your new studio Penny! How fortunate that the room started with the bank of cabinets on either side of the window:>)

Penny, I was gone all day and I just realized what I said on my post. I meant to say Franklin. No one else picked up on that. Laughing. That's a long way to go for quilt lessons. I corrected it. Beverly didn't comment today or I bet she would have seen it.
Still laughing.
Hugs, Jeanne
Your studio is gorgeous. I'm inspired just looking at it. Mimi
I love the white! It certainly is a place anyone would be happy to work in and to be inspired by. Organization..where you can lay your hands on anything you want at a moments notice! I would look forward to going to work in a gorgeous and comfortable place like this. Talk about bouncing out of bed in the morning... Is there a coffee maker up there? :) That would be the cherry on top!
Hugs to you my friend!
Mona
This looks great Penny! I love the black and white flooring, and I think it makes the space look bigger too.
Thanks for your comment on my slipcover post! I got those burlap tablecloths from Ballard Designs. They were on sale and in stock! I really wanted the ones with the fringe on the bottom but they were backordered for about 3 months.
I LOVE your studio space, Penny! And I'd love to have that pig in my garden so bad!
Brenda
What a gorgeous space to work in! I'd be in heaven with all that room and storage!! The floors came out great and you get such wonderful light in that room. I'm sure you're anxious to get back to work!
Manuela
Wow, how wonderful Penny! It looks like such an inspirational place to be!!
Penny, I LOVE your studio!! I keep looking at the before and after photos. It looks so much bigger in the "after". Does it look that way because of the floor? Or did you really make it larger. The difference is amazing and it is fabulous! xo rachel
P.S. You were my first commenter outside of family when I started my blog 2 years ago and I have remained forever grateful. I wish much success and the best of luck to you.
I just love this room transformation, Penny. It was so much fun seeing it in person. What a great studio to work in. Thanks for joining my party again!
It's so wonderful, you have totally Penny-fied it! Everything you have done is just great, the floors are my favorite ever. I'm super envious!

Penny, I can only imagine how every artist would love to have this space in which to work. The white walls and those black/white tiles really open up this space. It's truly wonderful!
~ Sarah
That is one great studio! And that black and white floor is gorgeous. The pigs not bad either.
Amazing, I cannot believe how much bigger that looks. I seriously had to scroll back up to see if you pushed back the walls.
i just loved seeing this room!!! I'm in love with the pig!!!
wow, it looks enormous compared to the before!!! I love the checkerboard tile floor! And, the piggy.
This is just perfect! I want it!! But for now I will simply be happy in my basement...the happy place as I call it! Hey at least it has a sink and bathroom. I would so love to have a studio like yours, you have no idea...maybe someday! Lucky you, it looks fantastic! Love checking out all the things you create . Loved that bistro set you did for a friend, you are an inspiration to me :)
Your studio looks fantastic! It looked great before, but even better now with the checkered floor.
