Kitchen Eating Nook Before and After

I know I have shown you bits and pieces of the Kitchen Eating Nook, as we worked on it, but not the whole area. So here is a picture of the before.

BEFORE

And here is the AFTER. We painting the red and olive green walls Belgian Waffle and replaced the chandelier.

This furniture was in my formal dining room at my old house. We hope to add some curtains or valances on the window and maybe an area rug, down the road.

Well, we are suppose to get about 11 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow. I am looking forward to it! Have a great weekend.

Welcome Home,
Penny

Penny, it seems like your new house is quite a bit bigger. Do you love having all that space? Your home is just beautiful!

Love the Belgian Waffle color...mine is currently red and I'm really having a hard time getting used to it. For one, it's hard to find fabric I like for chairs and windows to go with the red. Your bird cages look great up on the hutch! Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Penny it is so bright and pretty...makes me want to get rid of my dark paint. When my husband sighs, I'll just say...it's Penny's fault! LOL
Have a great weekend!

Wonderful French Country color scheme. I adore every inch of it. Please stay safe and warm. We are expecting 14" of snow tonight and tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it because on Dec. 18 we had a huge snowstorm and lost power for 4 days. Just too fresh in my mind right now. Enjoy yours though. I'd be happy if it missed us totally.

Beautiful changes, Penny.

Our snow went south. They also had ice, down that way, too. Our friends in NC, said they had freezing rain, before the snow,I believe.

Another trend will be traced right back to this blog - we'll all be wanting a red china cabinet!

Love the dining area...especially the red hutch! We are supposed to get 12+ inches here.

Oh do take pictures of the snow...hope that it won't last long. Do you bake during snowstorms?

All that and I forgot to say that your room looks wonderful. The lighter color is very nice.

I just thought about you when I saw you had posted this. You have really been working hard on your new home. Isn't it fun? I wish I had a project like that. I was just over at the Tassel Castle on Etsy, and saw a red/black tassel and a rooster tassel that reminded me of you, but I knew you had moved, and didn't know what the new place was looking like. We have at least 7 inches of snow too, and are suppose to get alot more over night. We're right about the line, apparently. Charlotte hasn't gotten that much.

Hi Penny,
Your "nook" came out great! Love the red china cabinet. Do you have the back wall of it lined with red gingham or something? It's a great showcase for transferware.
Re:snow, you have more than we have on the Southern Maine coast! Stay warm and drive safely if you must venture out.

I think I need another cup of coffee... I was wondering why you'd put an area rug down the road, lol.

I think you need colored candles to go with the white candlesticks to make them show up. I liked them better black, really. Sorry.

LOVE your house, LOVE your photos, LOVE it all. Thanks for sharing it!
