The Master Bath Chandelier

How was your Christmas? Mine was great. We had a couple of our sons and families visiting. The holidays are always better with loved ones around, aren't they?

While here, one of our sons helped Mr. Comforts of Home install the vintage crystal chandelier in my master bath.

It took the place of a recessed light, so we had to add a ceiling medallion to cover the larger hole. I think it just made the chandelier look better.

Now that my family has left, I am looking forward to a long soak with the chandelier lights set on dim....

I will be around to see all of you and catch up with all you have been doing in the next day or two....
Welcome Home,
Penny

  2. I was just wondering how things were going at your house when I saw this pop up! Love the chandelier--the contrast of the carved "arms" and delicate crystals! And that stained glass is the icing on the cake in that room. I love all the light! You need some bubbles and a good book soon! Glad the holdiays were good--Happy 2010!

  4. Now that's my idea of a relaxing bath! It's so pretty and I know you are going to love every minute you spend soaking in the tub under it. Thanks for sharing it with us. ~Adrienne~

  5. Penny~~

Your bath looks just gorgeous! I love the chandelier. You are such a romantic!

Believe it or not, we are just finishing up on our bathroom at the lake (with the large tub). Our carpenter took the summer off....ahem! But cheap help is hard to find...so I believe I have a light over my tub now, I'll find out tomorrow and maybe have some pics. DH is still deciding on what to put on the walls (long story). Enjoy a good bubble bath!!

  7. Your chandelier is beautiful.
Your bathroom floor is the one I want in our MB remodel along with the subway tile. I have an antique claw foot to put in mine, but I love your tub too. Do you mind me asking what size is your shower and are you happy with the size?
I want to show my sweetie this. Oh, also what is the marble on our counter tops called. It's all just what I want. Hope I'm not offending you by asking all the questions. We have been remodeling for almost 6 yrs. and all we have left is the MBedroom and MBath.

  12. It looks wonderful Penny. I'd love to find a nice light for our bath. It's just a bare lightbulb coming right our of the ceiling! Feels more like an iterogation room than a place for a nice soak!
Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Love the chandelier in the m/bathroom - it's 'the icing on the cake' and you will so enjoy soaking in its romantic light.

Wow, your To Do list is almost completed now - you and K have done an awesome job on the house renovations, congratulations dear friends.

Have a happy evening - and don't forget your black-eyed peas and collard greens tomorrow!

Hope to see you again in 2010.

  32. I agree! Family is what makes the holidays!

I love your chandelier! We have one almost identical to yours. I painted ours a distressed white and hung it in my daughter (Bella's) room to go with her shabby chic decor. One of my favorite pieces in our home. I would have a chandelier in every room if my husband would go for it!!

    Take care!
    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
    Blessings,
    Heather:)

  35. Did you get snow last night? We didn't get a single flake as predicted - I was disappointed when I peeked out the window at 6 AM. Oh well, Winter's not over yet!

Penny have you heard about the Gibson Mill antiques mall opening in Concord soon? If not, let me know - we'll HAVE to get there in the Spring!!

    Warm hugs to you both.

  36. Seeing this bathroom and tub does make me a tad envious I have to confess!! I take baths about every night with a good book, but my bathrooms are very old and worn and just not pretty!!
