Announcing The Winner and A Trip To a Tree Farm

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We did here at The Comforts of Home. One of our 4 sons is visiting and on Wednesday afternoon, we took a drive out into the countryside to visit a "cut your own" tree farm to get our Christmas tree. The weather was wonderful. About 50 degrees and sunny.

Here are some pictures of the Christmas tree farm. It is called Sandy Hollar Farms and has been in business for 30 years.

The gift shop was deck out in wonderful fresh cut Cypress and Frasier fir garlands and wreaths. I bought a couple of the garlands and a wreath and will show you soon, how I am using them.

Isn't this just beautiful?

Without further adieu, the winner of the burlap/ french postcard print pillow cover giveaway was drawn by Random.org. There were 83 comments and the winner was number 15.

The winner is Stacey of Poofing the Pillows (how appropriate is that?). Congrats Stacey! Please email me your mailing address and I will send your pillow out to you right away! And thank you all for your sweet comments on this post.
Welcome Home,
Penny

  5. I would love to have a live tree again. It has been a very long time since we have. Unfortunately, my son-in-law would not be able to come into our house if we did have one...he is highly allergic! So for now, we will stick to the one in the box! Could you can some of that fragrance of fresh cut tree and send it to me?

  6. Hello Penny, I,m up to 2 pieces of pie already. I started at 5:00am. Yes, the puppy had to go outside. That was after the 2:00am potty trip. I feel like a new mommy. HA!

Love the greens and I know you will do something wonderful with them. I love fresh greens for Christmas. I am ready to go to our mountain property called Holly Hill. There are so many holly trees to pick from.

Congrats to the winner of the delightful pillow. I laughed when you said it was 'Poofing the Pillows.' I know she will be thrilled.

    Have a great weekend.

    Hugs, Jeanne
