Humming Right Along

This morning I was outside taking pictures of this mosaic table for my Lavender Hill Studio Blog. I was really concentrating and looking through the camera lens. I wanted to capture some of the Knock Out Roses in the picture with the table. When suddenly I felt a light wind near my ear and a humming noise.

Little Miss Hummingbird was letting me know she wanted a drink from the feeder and to get out of her way! So I stepped back a couple of feet and she landed and started to eat.

After looking around for a while, she flew away and let me get back to work.

Please click on the pictures to enlarge. This hummingbird is so dainty. When you enlarge the pictures you can see the subtle color of her gossamer wings and her beautiful face.
Welcome Home,
Penny

  1. Good Morning Penny. :) You captured a beautiful sight. We have many hummingbirds right now. They all come to our trumpet vine. They bring their bumble bee friends along.

  3. Hi, Penny -
I loved seeing your little feathered friend! I have a little green hummingbird fellow who frequents my backyard - but I never seem to have the camera outside at the right moment. You'd think I'd learn to take it out whenever I go out the door!

  7. Great shots, Penny!!

We had one in the garage. It was dazed. J picked it up and took it outside and it flew away, just fine.

  8. Penny, I had better learn to mosaic. On Thursday alone Clyde the cat broke one dish. It was on the cabinet with kitty snacks in it and he sailed across the counter and sent it across the next room. Then later I bumped into a shelf and down came a mug. I've got shards filling a box in the garage. I think of you when I see them there. I need your talent!

  17. Penny,

Our hummingbirds are emptying the feeder almost as fast as I fill it. Long ago I had them on the front porch but they would dive bomb me when I was on the swing, so I had to move them to the back yard.

    Hugs,
    Gretchen

  21. WOW! You have really been busy these past couple of weeks! I love to house hunt, too but I wish you were looking closer to AVL! I know you'll find something you love though and enjoy making it your own! We actually hung our hummingbird feeder on the balcony and we have a humming bird visiting every day! That makes it feel like home! Enjoy your week! Let's get together again soon!

  23. Hi Dear Penny, I loooove the pink mosaic table. I appreciate your lovely work so much. I'm dreaming that one day I'll be able to get some type of furniture with the mosaic....

My neighbor has a lot of hummingbirds in her yard because she has many hummingbird feeders. When I go over to take care of their dogs, I sit outside and could just watch them all day. They are so pretty and interesting.

So your on the hunt for another home - Good Luck in finding the perfect one.

    Take Care-
