Dreaming

Dreaming.....

Dreaming of when summer is here and I can see real geraniums. Until then I will be content to gaze at this oil painting in my foyer. I picked this pretty painting up at a local antique mall about 2 years ago.

P.S. My friend Natasha in Australia from Artistic Creations by Natasha Burns is holding an auction of some of her beautiful work, the proceeds going to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal to help the terrible devastation from that massive fire. Please go bid if you can.....

Welcome Home,
Penny

Pretty geraniums, Penny! If you can't have them in real life, this is a nice way to have them year round. :-)

I have always enjoyed geraniums, and we have a small oil of some in a terra cotta pot. It was a wedding gift yeara ago. I know what you mean, though, as I'm ready to see flowers outside. We had them till the last few cold snaps, and then things were hurt pretty badly. The bouganilla is gone, but it will come back with the warmth.

Love to you and hoping for the spring weather to come and stay for a bit. :-)

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Penny! I just had to stop by for a visit. I've had very little blogging time lately. LOVE your new blog! My hubby and I actually made a quick stop in your home town a week or so ago on our way home from Fort Jackson, SC. We stopped at an antique mall called Needful Things to look around for a while before returning home. I waved to you as we got back on the interstate. Hope you got my greeting ;).

Blessings!

I am so ready for spring. It's been a long cold winter. I'm trying to overwinter a couple of geraniums in my garage. We'll see if it works. Mimi

Hello Penny! Those flowers bring back some sweet memories for me. My grandmother had all kinds growing and taught me how to propagate them-they are so easy to grow and pretty too! I am also more then ready for spring to make her appearence! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!~Smiles~Tam!

I always grow geraniums in the summer, they last so long. Summer will be here before we know it. All the lawn service companies were out in my neighborhood yesterday mowing lawns, trimming trees etc.

That's a beautiful painting, Penny. I always try to have several geraniums during Summer. I plan to have them in a white wicker plant stand on the front porch this year. J winters over geraniums, also.

The painting is lovely and the frame is divine....
I love the lamp you did in the other post..... And what ever happen to those good shows on HGTV?

That painting is beautiful! I love geraniums too! I just read Tuesday's post and I have that Kitty Bartholomew book. Hers was one of my favorite HGTV shows. My favorite was Country Style. I HATE that HGTV has gone modern and has pretty much totally forgotten about us who like more of a country look. I wish they would at least show reruns of the good shows they used to have.

Mmmm...red geraniums, some of my favorite flowers! I have a picture of red geraniums too that Earl and I purchased on a weekend away. I think I took it down when I painted the living room and haven't put it back up! I need to go look for it:>)

Love geraniums and it's a pretty print.....but oh my, the frame, it's fabulous and looks really French!!

BTW - Penny dear - was it you who painted some Queen Anne style dining chairs a while back? If so, would you know where on your blog I can find them? Also, did you prime the wood or just sand them and paint? Can you believe I'm going to make over my six brown (4 side, 2 arm) chairs and turn them into chipped 'antique' French country chairs!! I know it will be a big job but I can't fork out a thousand bucks to replace them - and I do love them anyway because they're beautiful heavy and so comfortable (they're Thomasville).

Thanks for your kind comments on the dining room re-do - I'm thrilled with the way it's looking.
