The picture below is taken from inside my guest room, through a window screen. That is why it is a little fuzzy. This rare white squirrel was visiting our front courtyard. They are known to be plentiful the next county over...This was a rare treat to see one in our area.

Click on the pictures to enlarge for detail. The white squirrel's tail is so feathery looking!
Welcome Home,
Penny

Love the pileated! And I have never seen a white squirrel like that before! It's beautiful - like a little angel!
I don't think I've ever seen a white squirrel before! He's amazing! :-)

Loved the pictures! I've never seen either before. ♥
WOW, that white squirrel is really something. Ours are gray and boring. Mimi
I always enjoy your photos of the special things you get to look at living in the forest penny! :) Love this new blog of yours! xo chris
How neat! I've never seen a white squirrel before. My son adores birds of all kinds and his love has really taught me a great deal. I'll have to show him your woodpecker.
Hope that the woodpecker flies off now and leaves you alone (now that you've snagged a good pic). I've never seen a white squirrel before either, until now. Do you have black squirrels in your corner as well?
Oh Penny. I can stare out my window all day into the woods. Most of the time I can see something good..deer, squirrels, coyotes. We see small woodpeckers in our backyard often. They actually eat the sunflower seeds in the bird feeders. Now, I've never seen a white squirrel!! My squirrels would be jealous at how fancy she is!
I have never seen a white squirrel before Penny - how gorgeous!
Oh, I didn't even know white squirrels existed! How wonderfult os ee one in your backyard! And the pileated woodpeckers are so huge. I have been enjoying seeing all the birds at the feeder this winter (and the squirrels, they have to eat too!)
Wonderful Pictures, I have never seen a white squirrel, thanks for sharing with us..

We get the pileated woodpeckers too. One day there were two of them and what a loud noise they made! I've never heard of a white suirrel. It's beautiful.
Isn't it wonderful looking out on a woods? The snow is almost gone here, but it was pretty while it lasted.

Penny, for some reason I lost you! I was excited to find you with your new blog name again just now. :)
We have woods behind us and if I'm not on the computer, I'm also looking out the window. We have a lot of woodpeckers, but not sure if we have the real "woody". I'll have to look him up in my bird book. They are so fun to watch, aren't they?
Donna

I have never ever seen a white squirrel....If we had cute fluffy white squirrels up in our attic we wouldn't have had to get that Atlanta Wildlife out to extract them....
Alright what is going on with the white squirrel? I've never seen one ever before. Now I'm going to have to do some reserch, you have my curiosity going. Now thats what I call having great neighbors. The only kind I love living near me..
We have a nest of little black squirrels that I love...and the birds have been flocking in with the snow! Lovely photos!

I love your new background. I keep thinking of changing mine, but I don't know what I want.

Hey Penny; What a great shot of the Woodpecker. It is so pretty, and the white squirrel is very cute. I did not know about them at all, until now. That is why I love blogging so much, I learn a lot of things I did not know... lol;

When I visit your blog and see the header photo with that beautiful red cabinet and birdcage and rooster...well, I just love it every time! Love the birds and how you "changed 'em up"!
Love the animal pictures! Never seen a white squirrel before!
WOW! You got some GREAT pictures! We had a pileated woodpecker come to our front porch and drink from the bird bath! I took some pics but every one had his head down! They are really fun to watch! And we don't see the white squirrels at our house very often either! It's always such a treat! You live in a beautiful area! Do you think all the snow will melt today?
Cool visitors. We hear woodpeckers occasionally here, but never see them.
I heard woodpeckers yesterday!
I couldn't see which tree they were in but they were certainly hard at work. :)
Penny,
I have never even heard of a white squirrel and it is so petite. We have the large grayish brown bird seed hogger types which annoy me to death. Can you tell by the description??
Janet
Oh my goodness...what fun visitors to have! I've never seen a white squirrel! Isn't he a beauty? :-)
And its been YEARS since I've seen a pileated woodpecker. They are magnificent birds, just so enchanting. I'm so glad you posted these photos, Penny...what a treat!
What great creatures come to visit you, Penny! I've never seen a pileated yet, but I keep looking.
You have white squirrels? Our's are red and some are gray. When I lived in Toronto, they had black ones. The photograph of the white squirrel is stunning.
Karen
